Grand servant to connections and he racked up a Dundalk Polytrack hat-trick over 6f/7f over the winter. Ran well in defeat on return to action at the Curragh last Friday. C&D winner commands respect.

Winner of one of his 10 career starts on turf. Met trouble in running in a Navan 1m Listed contest on return to the track last week. Trainer may have found an ideal opening for the gelding to get back to winning ways.

Second of four runners behind San Andreas when last seen in a Dundalk 7k contest on the AW in February, beaten 4L. Generally disappointed for trainer Roger Varian and needs to step it up a little in this company.

Lightly raced type who clearly has had his fair share of training set backs. Can be forgiven his eighth of 11 beaten over 6L on return to action behind the improving Sceptical at Naas in a Listed contest last week. Worth a check in the market.

One from eight in his career, sole success coming at this venue 12 months ago, beating 14 rivals over 2L on yielding ground. Not seen since October and may be better following this run.

Winner over C&D in July last year landing a handicap contest on good ground off a 5lb lower mark. Generally well held in three starts since and appears hard to fancy in this company.

Solid and consistent, improving looking sort in a number of starts this time 12 months ago. Winner of two of her 12 career starts, the filly can continue to good run of the yard in this contest.

Forecasts

Woody Creek (9/4), No Needs Never (5/2), Real Force (11/4), San Andreas (4/1), Laugh A Minute (11/2), Geological (12/1), Rhydwyn (20/1), Big Baby Bull (33/1), Dragons Call (50/1)

Verdict

Trainer Joseph O'Brien may have found an ideal opening for the four-year-old son of Dark Angel SAN ANDREAS to win for the fourth time in his career. The gelding had excuses on his return to action in a Listed contest at Navan last week and can get the better of a number of rivals here, notably the Fozzy Stack-trained Woody Creek who is better than his last run behind Sceptical suggests. The Ado McGuinness-trained, Laugh A Minute and Real Force coming back from a 12 month lay-off can compete for remaining prize money.
