Won a selling handicap over C&D (good) last July and added a 7f Catterick handicap (good to firm) in September, when 2lb lower than here. Handles soft and should have come on for recent reappearance. Interesting.
2-36 career record, and both those wins were on AW surfaces. Did go close on very soft ground (1m2½f) when trained in France, but there has been little encouragement from his few forays back on turf in the last two seasons.
0-13. Placed five times on AW over 6f/7f, including from this mark on what was an encouraging reappearance at Chelmsford last week. Only seen out once on turf, when well held, but can't rule him out now tried again in a weak race.
4lb lower here than when going close at Hamilton (1m1f, soft) 13-months ago, and was also placed from today's mark at Leicester (1m, heavy) last July and then Ripon (1m2f, good). Should again be thereabouts.
Sole win came on AW (1m½f; first-time cheekpieces) last September, when 5lb lower. Has been placed over C&D last season. On a competitive mark, but needs to eek out a bit more again to win.
Goes well on slow ground and has won four times over 6f-7f. The last of those, 11-months ago, came from today's mark. However his record over further than 7f leaves a bit to be desired.
Triple winner over 7f-1m who is now back on a very handy mark. Bypassed an engagement at Leicester on Saturday to go for this, but still a risky proposition based on recent efforts.
Sole turf success came over this trip on good to soft ground at Ripon last August (also has three wins over 7f-1m at Newcastle). Has been competitive from this mark on AW, but yet to win from this high, so needs to find more.
Multiple 7f-1m winner, including on good to soft. 1lb higher than the most recent of those, and this is very much his level. Scored when fresh last year, and no surprise to see him go very close with 5lb claimed.
Dual sprint winner, including on good to soft, but has not scored since October 2017. Went close when 3lb higher over C&D last year, so can't write him off, especially as he can give a good account when fresh.

Scorched Breath is interesting in a weak contest, returning to turf after some respectable AW efforts. Lukoutoldmakezebak is weighted to be thereabouts, along with Global Exceed and The Big House. Smeaton also looks capable of having a say, but preference is for LAGENDA, who has a few things going for him, including a useful 5lb claim.
