Caused a shock last time out off a 187-day break recapturing her best form over 1m5f here staying on well. Claims under a 5lb penalty but has shown signs of temperament in the past so no banker to follow up that win over a shorter trip.

Dual course winner with the latest of those victories coming over a furlong further (has won over this trip). Went off favourite here last time (1m6f), proved a big disappointment (tame finishing effort, well behind Lilypad); needs a return to form.

Lightly-raced maiden whose long absences hint at the fact that she's been hard to train. Offered very little on her latest start over 1m at Kempton after 9-months the track, never involved, first-time cheekpieces now fitted.

Down the field in three maiden/minor race efforts for Richard Hannon, seemingly relatively unfancied each time. Up significantly in trip (furthest she's tried so far is 1m2f) for stable/handicap debut, worth noting any positive market vibes.

Fair handicapper at one point in his career but has since 2018 been out of sorts (mostly run on the AW). Often spoils his chance by racing freely (carries his head high), returns from a fair absence, best to look elsewhere even in a modest contest.

Not seen since making his handicap debut over a year ago, produced a reasonable effort although he didn't travel that smoothly through the contest over 1m4f. Has a stamina laden pedigree (needs a real test), visor on first-time to help him travel.

Modest maiden (0-12); ran too free on her previous try over C&D (looked a hard ride, blindfold removed late, very slow away). Settled better when last seen over 1m4f, still has work to do even at this level, others more persuade more.

Course winner, ridden with more restraint than usual over C&D when last seen off this same mark. Returns from a break with no great record fresh although there isn't much strength in depth in this event and she may grab a place.

Stepped up in trip markedly for her handicap debut but failed to improve for that increased distance having made little impact in varied events prior to that. Has a long absence to overcome here stepping up in trip once more for her Polytrack debut.

Poor maiden who ran her best race when last seen over C&D in a minor event but it's only poor form overall. Now makes her handicap debut but does need to find some further progress; in good hands but hard to build a convincing case.

Forecasts

Lilypad (5/2), Que Quieres (16/5), Affair (9/2), Barrier Reef (9/2), Good Ole Winnie (11/1), Scrafton (16/1), Miss Pollyanna (25/1), Gms Princess (33/1), Galileo Jade (40/1), Accredited (80/1)

Verdict

Strength in depth is at a premium here with the recent course winner Lilypad given a fair chance to follow up despite stepping back slightly in trip under a penalty although he temperament has been called into question in the past. Que Quieres a dual course winner was well beaten and a huge flop behind Lilypad last time when the market leader, he would be a danger if returning to form. Galileo Jade could do better now she is given a test like this but it could be worth taking a chance on BARRIER REEF now with a visor on for the first time coming back from a long absence but clearly on a decent mark.
  1. Barrier Reef
  2. Lilypad
  3. Galileo Jade
