Taken a while but finally made use of a much-reduced mark back in headgear to resume winning ways over C&D (dropped into 0-55 for first time). Soon led (took strong hold) given his past form holds plenty of handicapping scope under a 5lb penalty.
Fair handicapper but far from a serial winner (1-28) and her recent form has a very uneven feel to it. Below form when last seen at Wolverhampton (9.5f), 0-2 at this venue, cheekpieces worn of late remain, back from an absence, others preferred.
Often shapes as though he can win a race but has so far managed to deceive on that score remaining a maiden (0-13). Tried at varying trip with the evidence suggesting he needs further than this 1m2f to be seen at his best.
C&D winner off a 12-week break earlier in the year producing her best effort for quite some while admittedly off a near basement mark. Ran well in two subsequent starts (both over this C&D), not seen to best effect last time; one to consider.
Consistent enough sort who is only modest these days (better in the past); ran poorly last time in this headgear combination at Wolverhampton (9.5f). Despite that poor run he appears better at that venue these days, others are more persuasive.
Been bounced around a few yards, debuts for another stable here with a tongue-tie (first-time) added to tried before cheekpieces. Continues below form, returns from a fair absence, has work to do even off a basement mark, appeal is limited.
One of five in this contest who have yet to win a race (0-16) and his form overall is no more than modest. Merely underlined his inconsistency when last seen finishing well held over 1m4f at Kempton; yard struggling for form currently.
Has the odd race on his CV that suggests he can return to winning form but its 20 runs now since he last won a race back in 2015. Cheekpieces worn in her last two 2019 starts return; looked to need the run on her only 2020 run, returns from a break.
Stays and is usually seen over further than this 1m2f; below form on his only 2020 start over 13.3f here (well below form). 0-18 on the Flat (usually wears cheekpieces in this sphere), would need to show more than of late to interest.
C&D winner when with John Best (one of three wins that year); not won since and now with a different yard, comes here off a lengthy absence. Out of form when last seen (went with little verve); break needs to have rejuvenated her.
0-26 but did show some fair form earlier in her career but there has been very little gusto in her performances since 2018. Four runs since a recent surgery; fared no better in a first-time hood over C&D last time (removed here); hard to fancy.

Consistency has never really been a strong point for PIONEERING of late but such is the handicapping scope he possess under a penalty after winning easily over C&D last week and the paucity of the opposition he could well follow-up under a 5lb penalty. Finding bonafide dangers is hard although another C&D winner Lady Of York has run soundly enough in two further C&D starts since that victory – she could pick up the pieces if the suggestion underperforms. Harbour Quay, Pike Corner Cross and Apache Blaze form a trio that could contest the minor place in a very weak contest.
