Dual course winner; equally at home over 7f-1m, appreciates a good pace to run at (got just that when winning here over 1m in November off this mark). Not quite matched that form since then including over 9.5f last time, chance in competitive heat.
Twice a winner last year at up to 7f both wins coming on Polytrack; modest form this year (twice in headgear). Best excused a below-par effort on recent return (was short of room) but isn't one to trust generally, best treated with caution.
Stepped up on return run from a wind op to resume winning ways in a minor event over C&D (race run to suit; got a strong gallop). Usually races over further; will need a similar scenario back in a handicap off a mark 2lb below his last winning one.
Stable debut for a modest maiden; ran some creditable races over 6f-1m here last year but missed a couple of golden opportunities to record an elusive win (looked less than straightforward). Not seen this year, ended 2019 on a downbeat note.
One-time useful handicapper with Michael Bell, dual 1m course winner, well-backed on debut for this yard on Fibresand debut (wore first-time blinkers) over an inadequate 6f. Needs the emphasis more on stamina (0-8 at less than 1m); can be slow away.
Modest AW handicapper, showed the benefit of a reappearance run when breaking his maiden off a basement mark at Newcastle (7f, slow). Got his own way in front on that occasion, failed over longer trips last twice, way below his winning form.
Modest maiden filly, only placed once in 10 starts (already on her third trainer). Two creditable runs for this yard, latest in first-time hood, did best of those held-up over 7f at Kempton in March (well-backed); others more appealing on balance.

It's not that long ago that LACAN was running off marks much higher than today’s plummeting in the handicap over the past year. If Mick Appleby has found the key to him he’s going to look very well handicapped stepping back up to 7f and despite not having won over less than 1m this could be a strongly-run affair. That scenario would also suit Caledonia Laird and Irish Times both of whom have winning form at this track and its not hard to see them both taking a hand in the finish.
