Out of sorts during the winter for Simon dow but took advantage of lower mark to score on debut for current yard at Yarmouth last week. Carries 4lb penalty and clearly happy back with former trainer but wouldn't want ground to ease too much.
1-10 for Charles Hills and has first start for new yard. Begins campaign on favourable mark if able to return to something approaching his best and easy ground wouldn't be an issue. Not disgraced first time out last term in Listed event.
Wom 1m handicaps at Doncaster and Wolverhampton last season and also failed by just a head over C&D last August off 3lb. May not be far away if fully tuned up following absence.
Both mile wins came on the AW at Dundalk and hasn't won beyond 7f on turf to date. Only just failed at Nottingham last term though over extended mile but usually needs a run to hit top gear. Soft ground no problem.
2-9 for Marcus Tregoning, both wins at around this trip. Makes debut for new handler after near-11 month absence so fitness has to be taken on trust. Competitively weighted if fuly wound up.
Won three of last five races last term, ending with two wins over 1m at Lingfield this winter. Starts back off 8lb higher mark so has a bit to prove, but was going the right way when last seen and has to be considered.
4-19 on AW but 0-6 on turf and has a bit to prove in this sphere. Well beaten off 78 at Nottingham in October and would be a surprise if 4lb better mark is enough to turn things around.
Strick twice in the space of nine days last summer in C&D handicaps on Good to Firm ground, seemingly relishing the stiff track. Soon beaten at Newcastle earlier this month on first run for 250 days and will be fitter now. Has won on Soft in past.
Dead-heated in Southwell 1m novice event in January on only second run and made promising turf debut at Haydock last week when fourth of 11 over extended 10f. Led and ran freely that day and has claims if bouncing out here off same mark.
Likes a stiff track and scored over C&D in 2017. Won over 1m2f at Beverley last campaign off 3lb lower mark. Having first start back after 205-day absence.
Only win came in 1m maiden in French provinces in 2018. Disappointed last term for current yard but starts back on more realistic mark so any market support would be worthy of note.

Forecasts
River Dawn (11/4), Frankelio (4/1), Mythical Madness (5/1), Kind Review (6/1), Billy Roberts (7/1), Makthecat (7/1), Star Of Valour (8/1), Storm Ahead (18/1), Monaadhil (18/1), Directory (20/1), Confrontational (20/1), Edgar Allan Poe (28/1), Dark Jedi (33/1)
This is a very tricky handicap with plenty having realistic claims. MAKTHECAT is a speculative choice having shown plenty despite running free over 2f further than this at Haydock last week. The drop back to this tough mile might prove ideal. Top weight Mythcal Madness signalled his pleasure at returning to his former handler when winning first time back at Yarmouth a few days ago and as long as the ground doesn't deteriorate should again go well despite his penalty. River Dawn, Kind Review and Star Of Valour were all in good form when last seen and could figure, while Edgar Allan Poe won twice over C&D last season and has claims if fit and ready to go.
