Better known as a chaser (118-rated); hasn't competed on the Flat since February 2018 (and did the bulk of his previous Flat racing on the AW); sits high enough in the handicap, although any further easing of the ground would suit.
Kicked off the previous turf season with a decisive win at Chepstow (1m4f, good); knocked firmly at the door on various occasions thereafter, including when beaten a nose at Bath (1m3½f, firm) last September; 2lb higher, but does enter the thinking.
Exploited an easing handicap mark when thrashing a Sir Mark Prescott-trained runner by 9L at Pontefract (1m4f, good to soft) last September; met trouble in the run when bidding to follow up at Chelmsford a week later; absent since.
Left Dermot Weld for £20,000 (August 2019); steadily worked back to form for his new trainer before winning back-to-back races on the AW at Wolverhampton (1m6f) and Kempton (2m); yet to win on turf (0-3); suitability of 1m4f trip?
Finally broke his duck when a narrow winner at Bath (1m5f, good) last June, and often placed thereafter - runner-up on debut for this trainer; it's possible that wind surgery can assist with improving a modest overall strike-rate (1-26).
Sits just below his last winning mark, although all six career wins have come on the AW (mainly Chelmsford); far from at his sharpest when last in competitive action during the early weeks of the calendar year; look elsewhere.
Remains a maiden (0-15) and it's undoubtedly a concern that a sequence of placed efforts (2323323) continue to stack up; was caught close home on the AW at Lingfield (1m4f) on his penultimate start.
Won twice on the AW (1m-1m4f) for Richard Hughes before joining Nicky Henderson for 16,000gns (July 2019); since has offered only minor promise over hurdles (0-3), and was a comfortably held second at Kempton (1m4f); others more obvious.
Lightly-raced and still on the upgrade; justified favouritism when a cosy winner at Windsor (1m2f, good to firm) last September - now 4lb higher; possesses scope to improve over this longer trip; Oisin Murphy a positive booking.
Campaigned almost exclusively over hurdles and fences since leaving the care of John Oxx (late 2017); returns to action from a 249-day absence on a mark which doesn't appear to be an onerous one; holds a place chance.

Both Air Force Amy and Carp Kid enter the thinking in a winnable looking Class 5 handicap, with the former probably less exposed than the latter. Mick Channon's charge met trouble in the run when bidding to follow up her Pontefract win on the AW at Chelmsford. However, a clear preference is for the Oisin Murphy-ridden VERIFY. This lightly-raced four-year-old concluded last season on an upward trajectory, and being closely related to the 1m4f AW winner Vuela remains open to further improvement over this trip.
