Son of Kingman got off the mark on second start at Newcastle in October over a mile, justifying odds of 2-7 in steady if unspectacular fashion. Likely improver back on turf for trainer/jockey in super form.

£38,000 yearling, €60,000 two-year-old, Footstepsinthesand gelding. Half-brother to three winners, including winner up to 6f Sir Theodore and 7f winner Wurood. Market useful.
Night Of Thunder makes some appeal on pedigree but will have to step up markedly on December's Lingfield debut (1m, AW; 33-1) when he was beaten 20L.

Ivawood gelding whose dam was a French maiden. Yard 0-14 with three-year-olds last season and watching brief seems safest on debut.

Australia colt, dam unraced half-sister to high-class 5½f/6f winner Muthmir out of useful 7½f-1m1½f winner Fairy of The Night. Represents leading connections though yards' three-year-old crop not seemingly as formidable as last year.

Good-looking son of Kingman cost 350,000 gns as a yearling and finished midfield by the very promising Palace Pier on debut at Sandown in August (7f, good to firm; 11-2). Should improve on that.
Newcomer already gelded by Australia out of a dam who was a 7f 2yo winner, half-sister to US 2yo Grade 2 winner over 1m1f Leave The Light On. Makes some appeal on pedigree but would need positive market vibes to support.

Half-brother to the smart 1m winner Neebras but pedigree isn't outstanding and well held in December novice on AW at Chelmsford prior to joining this trainer.

€240,000 yearling, Galileo colt. Closely related to 1¼m winner Starfighter and half-brother to useful 6f-7f winner Seychelloise and 1m winner Scottish Strand. Guineas-winning trainer continues to be in good form; noted newcomer.

Shamardal colt, half-brother to winner up to 1m5½f Chadic. Dam, 1m2½f/1m3f winner, sister to top-class winner up to 1½m Fantastic Light. Makes appeal on paper but Dettori sides with penalised stablemate Tsar.

Oasis Dream filly who is a first foal to a Listed juvenile winner. Ran green on debut at Leicester (7f, good to firm; 12-1) and should be more streetwise now. Can improve.

Forecasts

Tsar (5/4), Lord Campari (15/8), King Fairy (15/2), Sidereal (11/1), Wild Boy (14/1), Turaath (25/1), O'Reilly's Pass (33/1), Showmolina (50/1), Burke And Wills (66/1), Forked Lightning (150/1), Ivahunch (150/1)

Verdict

The obvious starting place is Newcastle winner Tsar, one of two for John Gosden in here and the mount of Frankie Dettori. He likely improves back on grass but that autumn success will need to be improved on if he's going to give 7lb away and score now. His stablemate Wild Boy joins King Fairy, Sidereal as newcomers that could have something to offer but the vote is reserved for LORD CAMPARI. He was behind the smart Palace Pier (sixth) on debut but should improve markedly and represents connections in fine form, with Andrea Atzeni riding a treble here from five rides on Thursday. The son of Kingman can step up on his Sandown run.
  1. Lord Campari
  2. Tsar
  3. Sidereal
