Newcomer from a yard not noted for this type; has a likeable pedigree though. Second foal, dam, 1m AW winner, half-sister to 7f-1m winner Music In The Rain out of half-sister to smart 5f-1m (including at 2yrs) winner Marionnaud.

One of six debutants, fourth foal, closely related to useful 6f 2yo winner Red Roman, dam unraced half-sister to Group-placed 6f 2yo winner Elronaq out of 6f Listed winner. Decent pedigree; deserves a market check in this company.

Showed very little on his 2yo debut, slow away, raced in rear and struggling from some way out at Newbury (1m, heavy), started 40-1. Should be better for the experience, up in trip, still would be a surprise winner.

Pedigree hardly leaps off the page but he ran quite a nice race on his juvenile debut. Gelded since that first start at York (1m, soft) he knew what was required, finished midfield, ought to appreciate the experience and the extra distance.

Stable has been in rude health since racing resumed, adds to the case for this newcomer. Half-brother to 1m2f winner Isamol, dam 1m AW 2yo winner/Ribblesdale third sister to useful 5f-7f winner Baddilini; one who makes plenty of appeal on pedigree.
Fifth foal, half-brother to 1m4f AW winner Persian Sun, dam, winner up to 1m (2yo 6f winner), half-sister to very smart winner up to 1m2f Prince Kirk. Gelded for his debut, others make a little more appeal unless there is market support.

Eye-catching pedigree from a top-class yard; up-and-running on the resumption of racing. Yard know the family well, trained several of the relations, brother to smart 1m4f winner Corelli, closely related St Leger winner Lucarno; on the shortlist.

Candlemas

Yard known known for their debut winners in this sphere; 8,000gns yearling. Second foal, dam, maiden (stayed 2m), half-sister to smart winner up to 1m4f Mustard. Not one of the more obvious contenders in this company that contains some fair newcomers

Choral Work222
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-0| J: James Doyle| T: W J Haggas
2/1
Green and held back by experience on debut as a 2yo at Newmarket (7f, heavy), she did however offer something to work on (got a sympathetic ride). No doubt she'll improve for that, comes from a good Cheveley Park family, sure to play a part.

Forecasts

Choral Work (2/1), Worthily (9/4), Tenfold (5/1), Uganda Heights (6/1), Without A Fight (11/1), Carausius (25/1), Candlemas (25/1), Angels Roc (66/1), Siempre Rapido (100/1)

Verdict

With six of the field making their debuts the market should be informative but with the Gosden yard showing no ill-effects from the break in racing their Point Of Entry colt WORTHILY is taken to make a winning debut. He’s a beautifully bred sort from a family the yard know very well and it won’t be a surprise to see him take this and go onto better things over further. Uganda Heights from another yard in good health is another newcomer to note. Of those with experience Tenfold is expected to come on from his York experience as a 2yo but it may well be the Nathaniel filly Choral Work who provides the biggest danger. She caught the eye under tender handling at Newmarket last year over 7f.
  1. Worthily
  2. Choral Work
  3. Tenfold
