Has shown very little in six starts in this code or one over hurdles and it will be a big surprise if she comes home in front here after almost 11-months off.
Well held in both start in this code and four under National Hunt rules, and although there have been inferior efforts to what she produced at Newcastle when last seen in February, she would be causing a big shock if she scores here.
Looked moderate in both starts as a juvenile, though did at least improve on his debut when switched to the AW in November. Dam did win as a 2yo and was a reasonable performer, but he has yet to live up to that.
Last of 13, beaten 18L on debut at Doncaster (7f, heavy) last October, and beat just two home at Newcastle next time. Can only watch on his reappearance.
€15,000 yearling., Sixth foal. Half-brother to four middle distance winners, the best being Valiant Knight. Dam a French 1m2½f-1m4½f winner. In good hands and likely to be better than the majority in this field on his racecourse debut.
66-1 and last of 10 on his Newcastle debut (1m) last October, and then beat just two home on his reappearance over that C&D last week. Can only take a watching brief on his turf debut.
13,500gns goal, 32,000 yearling. First foal. Dam was placed in Germany. Bred to be a middle distance performer and represents a stable with a 15% 3yo strike-rate over five seasons. Jockey booking suggests he can probably make a good debut.
100-1 and blew her race at the start when 41L last of 11 in a Wolverhampton novice event (1m1½f, AW) last November. Looks likely to need more experience.
Has gone off at big prices and been well held in all three starts so far. May be the type to get more competitive when entering minor handicaps, but likely to be watching on from towards the rear here.
Third foal. Dam 7½f-1m4½f winning half-sister to 7f-1m2f winner Lord Of The Rock and 7f/1m 2yo winner Rising Prospect. Stable a respectable 12% with its 3yos and she looks more interesting than several in this field.
Easy to back and well held in two AW runs over the autumn/winter months. Step up in trip ought to suit for this turf debut, but needs a lot of improvement to figure.
Had three AW runs during the autumn/winter showing improvement in the last of those. Could benefit from being given a bit of time off and trainer does have winners here. One of the more likely contenders today.
Forecasts
Strawberry Rock (15/8), Talking About You (5/2), Man Of Light (4/1), Brasingamanbellamy (6/1), Summerbridge (11/1), Strict Order (20/1), Famous Minx (22/1), Roddy Ransom (28/1), Oliver's Betty (40/1), Avis Bay (66/1), Free Cash (80/1), Harbour Sunrise (100/1)
Moderate fayre and with only Talking About You of much interest among those to have racecourse experience, this could be left to the two newcomers from Newmarket stables. Of the pair, MAN OF LIGHT is the suggestion. James Fanshawe's gelding is from a good family and is bred to appreciate this trip. The latter comment applies to the Hugo Palmer-trained Strawberry Rock, who should be capable of acquitting himself well, but there isn't a whole lot else for backers to latch on to.
- Man Of Light
- Strawberry Rock
- Talking About You
