Followed up a creditable second over C&D in February with an improved effort to get off the mark at Lingfield the following month. 4lb rise is fair and stable have already had a winner from just the two runners in the last week.
Off the mark over this distance at Newbury in August on third start but didn't go on from that and although this represents a drop in grade has something to prove right now.
Similar level of form when trained in France over slightly further trips on the AW. Gelded for English debut today and market should guide as to what is expected.
Runner-up in pair of maidens in the spring over 7f and 1m showing similar level of ability. Should be more to come now going into handicaps from his favourable draw.
Off the mark here in February at this trip but ruined chance of following up when rearing as stalls opened at Lingfield subsequently. Cheekpieces now go on for the first time. One of more exposed in the line-up.
Fair second over 6f on Salisbury debut a year ago but didn't progress in two goes after that at this trip and has been gelded since. Now reappears after 11 months off and entering handicaps.
Promise all three runs last term and seemed to find the drop down to 6f against him when making comeback in March. The return to 7f a plus and stable have made a good start in the past week.
Aside from a fair fourth at Newbury on second start his form has been moderate to date though reportedly made a noise when tailed off on nursery debut last backend. Something to prove for now.
Best run in five goes as a juvenile was when going from the front at Yarmouth on third start. Didn't really go on from that though will at least appreciate the return to this trip having not stayed 1m when last seen.
Runner-up first three runs all over 6f but failed to progress after that and proved expensive to follow. Now blinkered having tried cheekpieces last time.
Similar level of form in maidens at 6f but improved for the step up to 1m on nursery debut to get off the mark at this track. Drop back down to 7f a bigger concern than the 6lb rise.
Just the two runs in the spring at this trip and improved from debut when caught close home at Wolverhampton in March. Now going handicapping and opening mark looks fair on the evidence to date.
Forecasts
Karibana (18/5), Pretty In Grey (9/2), Dashing Roger (9/2), Claudius Secundus (11/2), Business (12/1), Anglo Saxson (14/1), Shine On Brendan (14/1), Miss Villanelle (16/1), Wightman (20/1), London Calling (22/1), Desert Palms (25/1), Crack Regiment (40/1)
BUSINESS showed enough on both runs early in the year to suggest his turn is near and gets the narrow vote to make it third time lucky. Dashing Roger was improving quickly when last seen in the spring and from the ideal draw commands plenty of respect with Claudius Secundus ,like the selection placed from just the two runs, another likely improver.
- Business
- Dashing Roger
- Claudius Secundus
