Course winner (1m) who has won at up to 1m4f on the Flat and won over the equivalent trip here in a bumper in February. Recent Flat form needs improving on but can't write him off, given his penchant for this surface.
Sole AW came over a similar trip at Southwell in January, when 3lb lower. Held over C&D next time when favourite, and in two further runs under both codes. More needed, and returns from an enforced rest with a bit to prove now.
1m4½f course winner who scored over 1m6f at Southwell in February, when 8lb lower and went close back there next time. Was reported to be never travelling when last seen there in March. Stays 2m but needs to be back to his best on these terms.
C&D winner last October, when 9lb lower and repeated that in January, when just 3lb lower. Held her form in two further runs here. Needs to eek out a bit more, but should again be a contender.
Sole win came on his fourth and final start for Roger Charlton at Wetherby (1m6f; first-time blinkers) a couple of years ago. 0-8 for this trainer, and has only really come close to a repeat once. Bit to prove, including over this far.
Has run well here a couple of times, including over this trip when 2½L fifth of seven last October from 3lb higher. Would have claims if returning in that sort of form, so check the market for clues.
Has won once under each code, his hurdles win being over this trip in 2018. Beaten a long way on his return from an absence at Southwell in February and looks best watched for the time being.
Prolific turf winner at up to 2m (mostly at around 1m4f) who is 1-4 on AW, that success being when Wolverhampton was Polytrack way back in 2012. Not seen away from turf in six years and no win when fresh since 2013.
1-7 on AW, having scored at Southwell (2m½f, Fibresand) in February, when 5lb lower. Couldn't reproduce that back over that C&D from today's mark on only run since, but entitled to enter calculations.
No win in 16 starts since 2016, and there wasn't much in the way of encouragement in just two starts last season. Can only take a watching brief at present.
Has won win under each code, the more recent being over hurdles at Market Rasen (2m½f, first-time visor) last September. Well held, however, all in four AW runs, three of them here. Stays 2m on the Flat, but has a fair bit to prove.
Sole turf Flat run resulted in a close second over 2m at Chepstow in 2017, and in that year he was also runner-up over C&D in his most recent of four AW runs. Has since won four times in the other code and is interesting back on the level.
Forecasts
Nataleena (3/1), Zabeel Star (7/2), Le Musee (5/1), Accessor (15/2), Flash Point (8/1), Londonia (10/1), Paris Protocol (14/1), Globetrotter (18/1), Nachi Falls (22/1), Tapis Libre (33/1), Low Profile (66/1), Card High (100/1)
The Nigel Hawke-trained pair Le Musee and Nachi Falls are both of interest in this, as is Londonia. Flash Point can have some sort of a case made, but the suggestion is topweight ZABEEL STAR, who acts well here and looks likely to see out the trip.
- Zabeel Star
- Le Musee
- Londonia
