Betway Pavilion Stakes (Group 3)
Class 1 | 6f | Standard | 13 Runners | Allweather
Off time: 15:57 | Winning time: 1m 10.79s
Last year's Group 2 Norfolk Stakes and Flying Childers Stakes winner (both 5f) who also scored at that level in France (5½f). Has to concede weight to all as a result of that, but looks to have a bit in hand even so, and should be tough to beat.
Progressed nicely at two, topped off with a win in the Listed Rockingham Stakes (6f) at York. Found wanting at this level on her final start, but that was at the end of a busy campaign. Could do better this term, but this is a tough return.
Scored on debut at Goodwood (5f) and added a Polytrack win at Chelmsford (6f) in August. Improved on that when 1L runner-up to A'ali in the Group 2 Flying Childers before going close in a Dundalk Group 3. Not much to find, and remains of interest.
Haydock scorer on his second start, this time last year. Improved on that when 3L third behind A'ali in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes next time and was also placed in a Deauville Group 3. Open to more improvement but probably playing for places here.
Another who won on his second start, doing so comfortably at Windsor (6f) last July. Well held when highly tried twice after that, but better effort when close third on AW debut at Kempton in January. Not ruled out of the prize money.
Dual Hamilton winner (5f/6f) last year, both in novice events. Best effort came when third in Listed Windsor Castle Stakes at Royal Ascot, but he showed nothing comparable thereafter. Since gelded and returns with a bit to prove.
7f Ayr novice winner who bettered that both when going close under his penalty at Redcar next time, and then when 4½L fourth in the Group 3 Horris Hill Stakes at Newmarket in November. Not ruled out of the money if he can kick on again.
Won an Italian Group 3 on his second start last year. Not disgraced in a couple of Group 2 contests back on British soil after that, and returned from a break to win Lingfield's Listed Spring Cup (7f, Polytrack) in February. Contender.
Debut win at Doncaster was his only one from seven attempts, but did well to be 2L third in the Group 3 Molecomb Stakes at Goodwood in July. Gelded since his most recent run and supporters will look to that win when fresh for confidence.
Improved steadily last season, winning four of his eight starts. Runner-up in Listed company at Redcar on most recent run, though best effort preceded that when a neck second in big-field York nursery. More needed but not ruled out of the money.
Won his first two starts last year (5f/6f; turf) before running with credit in an Irish Group 3, and finishing off with a close second to Aberama Gold in the Listed Rockingham at York. Another not ruled out of the frame given that record when fresh.
Also won his first two starts as a juvenile (both 5f; turf) before being beaten a neck by A'ali in the Group 2 Norfolk Stakes at Royal Ascot. 2L fourth in Newbury's Super Sprint was another fine effort. Looks the pick of the Fahey trio and a player.
Triple winner last year, the best of which was on her final start in a Chantilly Group 3 in November. Still going the right way then, but this is a difficult enough reappearance contest and she may have to wait for other days.
