Clued up for her promising debut at Chelmsford in November but failed to build on that in two subsequent AW runs. Could be fairly handicapped if she can get back to the form she showed as a juvenile.

Off the mark at the sixth attempt when landing a weak affair at Kempton in January but poor in two starts since. Dropped 1lb and returned to turf; others preferred.

Not without some promise in three runs in novice company on AW towards the back end of 2019. Step back up in trip is in his favour but does need to improve on handicap bow to defy this mark.

100/1 runner-up on debut before going one better next time. Four subsequent starts suggest she's regressed may improve if she learns to settle better and a return to turf could be a positive.

Promising debut but has shown little in three starts since including handicap debut here last time (heavy). First-time tongue-tie on and plenty of questions to answer at present.

Robert Guiscard233

His two better efforts have come over this trip and had excuses when third of nine here last time out. A return to fast ground could also be in his favour and dropped 1lb by the assessor.

Showed promise prior to winning her maiden at Wolverhampton in good style. Workable opening mark and every chance of progression this year; booking of De Sousa a plus.

Ikebana225

Ultimately well beaten on all three starts but some promise when third of nine here last time out. Pedigree suggests this step up in trip will be in her favour but may want an even greater test of stamina to be seen at her best.

Vintage Polly198

Showed plenty of promise in novice races and can be forgiven her handicap debut at Southwell last time when missing the kick. Has already shown she handles fast ground and extra furlong should suit.

Hit the frame in each of her three runs in maidens, though a beaten short-priced favourite in her last two starts. Met some trouble in running last time and ought to be capable of progress as a three-year-old.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: T Hamilton| T: R A Fahey| OR:  68

Improved markedly for a step up in trip on handicap debut at Newcastle last time out. 1lb rise fair for that but drop back to 7f not sure to be in his favour. Second start since a wind operation.

Zulu Girl293
Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: Charles Bishop| T: Eve Johnson Houghton| OR:  68

Failed to build on a good third at Ascot in July when well beaten at Salisbury in August. Return to quicker ground ought to help and less exposed than some in here.

Forecasts

Robert Guiscard (9/2), Ikebana (6/1), Inhalation (7/1), Morning Shadow (7/1), Gladice (8/1), Zim Baby (8/1), Zulu Girl (11/1), Diva Kareem (12/1), Internationaltiger (12/1), Vintage Polly (16/1), Tyler Durden (33/1), Barking Mad (40/1)

Verdict

Handicap debutante GLADICE gets the services of Silvestre De Sousa and the Brazilian jockey has an excellent strike-rate at this venue. The three-year-old filly has been given a nice mark and there was a lot to like about her maiden success at Wolverhampton. Vintage Polly is better than her effort on handicap debut last time and Robert Guiscard could be the main danger with a return to quicker ground likely to suit.
