Better known as a classy summer hurdler/chaser, last seen finishing third over 12f at Southwell in February and entirely feasible this quicker surface will suit him better than the Fibresand; not without an e/w chance if wound up.
Sister to a few classy handicappers and Group 3 winner Dandana, may well have needed the experience on debut at Newcastle last year and could easily be the sort to take a big step forward now going up in trip (which will suit); watch market.
Grade 2 bumper winner at Aintree back in 2019, and wasn't far behind the top-class hurdler Envoi Allen the time before; might find this trip a little on the short side but has class, and could easily take a hand.
Half-brother to the useful 8f/10f winner Gallic, and was in the frame both times in maiden starts last season, although didn't improve much from first start to second; early days yet though, and ought to be capable of better this year.
Half-brother ro 10f/12f winner Ultimate Destiny, and the quite useful 10f-12f winner Kalisha; ought to be capable of picking up races down the line but may find others a bit more knowing today.
Mixed messages to be taken as to best trip from pedigree but looked in need of further when fourth on debut at Lingfield last November; likely to do better again if settling a bit better this time, too.
Nothing much to be gleaned from his breeding, which looks only modest; may find things happening a bit too quickly for him on debut, and others readily preferred.
£850,000 as a yearling, related to some smart sorts including the top-class Rip Van Winkle; unseen at two and gelded for debut sound a couple of slight warning note but definitely one of the more interesting ones on paper.
Made seven figures as a yearling, fetching €1,400,000; dam 7f-10f winner, and took the Irish 1000 Guineas and a half-sister to a decent 2yo winner in Obliterator; plenty to like on paper and yard can get them ready first time; chance.
Price rose as a 2yo, half-brother to three winners including the 11f-14f winner The Pnto Kid; suitable starting point and surface should suit, but may want further and may need the experience on debut.
Related to a few winners from 6f-12f and makes some appeal on breeding, but yard not known for first time up winners and is best watched unless market says otherwise.
Little to recommend to pedigree, not well drawn and yard tend not to have first time out winners; makes little appeal today.
Forecasts
Galsworthy (4/5), The Glancing Queen (7/2), Swift Verdict (6/1), Retrospect (10/1), Jazz Party (20/1), Persian Beauty (25/1), Hatcher (40/1), Inky Blinder (40/1), Uncle Toby (100/1), Atailof Two Cities (125/1), Peat Moss (250/1), Lady Beat (250/1)
It will be interesting to see what the market says regarding the chance of the two John Gosden runners, the expensive purchase Swift Verdict and the twice raced Galsworthy, and both make plenty of appeal here. Persian Beauty was too green to do herself ustice on her debut and ought to know more here, and Retrospect is another that could take a hand. Classy bumper winner THE GLANCING QUEEN has experience on her side and as long as this trip isn't on the short side for her, might be too knowing for these today.
- The Glancing Queen
- Galsworthy
- Swift Verdict
