Dual handicap hurdle winner when with Keith Dalgleish landing a gamble on the first occasion at Kelso (2m, soft) Followed up in the same scenario albeit off a 9lb higher mark at Newcastle; never figured on first run for this yard given a stiff ask.
Listed hurdle winner who failed to fire for Nicky Henderson after making a winning debut for that yard. Two runs for this yard (often used to rejuvenate the owners runners) have shown very little; continued to be out of sorts last time.
Showed much improved form after an 11-month break to get off the mark on his second handicap outing at Uttoxeter (2m, heavy), second done little for the form. No impact last time up 8lb failing to see things out on this occasion; hood on first-time.
Placed in all his French starts (bumpers/hurdle) prior to coming to this yard where he's shaped better than his two placed efforts would suggest so far. Easy to back last time at Carlisle it's still early days with him; offers more in handicaps.
Modest maiden on the Flat he defied a 14-1 SP when winning on hurdles debut at Market Rasen in September over this trip. Failed to build on that success in two starts since, running poorly and tested by the tough conditions last time; handicap debut.
Irish point-to-point winner who has shown some promise in novice hurdles finally getting a mark after his fourth run. Ran poorly over C&D last time although conditions will be better today as he takes his first steps into handicaps; one to note.
Lightly-raced sort who hit the frame in a couple of mid/late-summer handicap last year (not seen since). Mark remains unchanged and he's shown that he can operate in this sphere; market may be the best guide to his expectations on return.
Yet to win a race although he does have several creditable efforts to his name in France in the Flat and over hurdles. Yet to really show much fire in the belly for this yard in GB; 6lb out of the weights and in better company than last time.
Forecasts
Present From Dubai (11/4), Fazayte (4/1), Gennady (6/1), Bobndave (13/2), Lucou (7/1), Mcgarry (17/2), Half Bolly (9/1), Laskadine (16/1)
A fairly modest contest but there are one or two that could improve and that group would include FAZAYTE who travelled well at Carlisle last time behind an odds-on favourite and the second (winner next time out). He looks the sort to take to handicaps with ground/trip looking ideal. Present From Dubai didn’t look in the same form at Newbury last time as he had when winning fresh at Uttoxeter but these look calmer waters and the first-time hood may well eke out some more progress. Bobndave is worthy of a mention given his previous handicap forays whilst McGarry stepping into handicaps for the first time having shown potential in novice hurdles can be expected to move forward now.
