Excellent course record with just one defeat from six starts (finished third), unbeaten over C&D (3-3). Keeps overcoming the handicapper around here and will need to so again off a new career-high mark; responds generously to pressure.

Won both starts for this yard both around here the latest over C&D adding to his already excellent record on Fibresand. Both his recent efforts are career-bests but does have to overcome a mark this high against some decent rivals.

A winner on his only previous start here over C&D (April 2018) it's a surprise that connections have not returned here before but that was for a former yard. Twice a 1m turf winner last year (made all both times); returns from a break, may need this.

Running in a consistent manner of late having made at least fourth in his last seven start after taking back-to-back handicaps in the autumn. The second of those was over C&D but off a 5lb lower mark; handicapper looks in control; tongue-tie on.

Took well to this surface over C&D last time (his pedigree had suggested he might) when running a good second to one who is very at home on the surface. Not the force of old but of interest if he's in the same mood again over the same C&D.

Love Your Work (5/4), Kentuckyconnection (11/4), Silverturnstogold (7/2), Makambe (6/1), How Bizarre (12/1)

Verdict

Not an easy event to unravel with four C&D winners in opposition and one who appeared to enjoy his first experience of the Fibresand. Love Your Work appears rejuvenated by the change of yard and a return here although he will have to improve against to defy today’s mark. SILVERTURNSTOGOLD is in the same position but given his run style it feels like there’s more to come and he’s hard to ignore with a track record that reads 111131. Makambe and How Bizarre are both capable of running well but perhaps the main danger comes from Kentuckyconnection. No longer capable of defying marks in the 90’s he enjoyed his first experience here although once again runs into some real Fibresand specialists.
