One from 10 at the track and is currently racing 14lb lower than last winning mark. Not disgraced in three starts here since the turn of the year but needs a few to falter.

Winner of two of his 12 races over C&D. Hints of a return to form last time in a 6K handicap last month finishing fourth of the 11 runners. Bit more needed but enters calculations with first-time cheekpieces to assist.

Off the mark for connections at the sixth time of asking when landing the spoils over C&D last month off an 8lb lower mark. Another bold bid likely.

Mixed bag of effort on his last three starts here over 6f/7f since the turn of the year. Yet to hit the frame in five starts over C&D and looks a little vulnerable coming into this contest.

10/1
Running with plenty of credit in a number of starts at this venue over 6f/7f since November hitting the frame on a couple of occasions. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals.

Forecasts

Zippity (7/4), Red Cymbal (7/1), Fit For Function (15/2), Snow Patch (8/1), Ticks The Boxes (10/1), Mister Trader (10/1), Danz Gift (11/1), Eleuthera (12/1), Plough Boy (14/1), Pillar (16/1), Super Julius (33/1)

Verdict

The Anthony McCann-trained RED CYMBAL deserves a change in luck and can get back to winning ways in the opening contest under Luke McAteer. The five-year-old, winner of one of his five starts over C&D can get a decent pull into the contest by his biggest danger Pillar who may get a soft lead in the early stages. The Tracey Collins-trained Zippity, off the mark for connections at the sixth time of asking when landing the spoils over C&D last month off an 8lb lower mark can compete for the minor honours with C&D winner Danz Gift
  1. Red Cymbal
  2. Pillar
  3. Zippity
