Easter Racing And Spring Country Fair Handicap

Off time: 18:30 | Winning time: 1m 39.60s

(3)

Transition⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-7| J: J Fanning| T: Mrs A J Perrett| OR: 83| D

5/2

Improving with each start and took a low-grade handicap at Kempton last time with a bit in hand; up 4lb for that and this more difficult, but has fitness on his side and ought to be a player.

Form: 341-1

Bold Suitor²⁹

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: L Morris| T: E Walker| OR: 79| D

11/10

Has really found his stride, winner of last two and couldn't have been much more impressive when scoring at Kempton last time; conditions fine again here, up another 7lb but no surprise if he's up to the task again.

Form: 705-11

(2)

Stanford⁴⁰

Age: 3| Weight: 9-3| J: David Probert| T: A M Balding| OR: 79| BF

9/2

Had the four starts so win, winning one of them, a novice race at Kempton in January; however, not really improving and beaten at a short price last time (by Transition), so needs to get back on track. Others make more appeal.

Form: 32-12

(5)

Manaabit²⁶

Age: 3| Weight: 9-2| J: James Doyle| T: W J Haggas| OR: 78| D

14/1

Made all to score against the favoured rail at Newcastle (1m) last time out and seems to be going the right way now; has scope to improve further, opening mark looks far from a gift but has to be given plenty of respect.

Form: 051

(4)

Blausee¹³⁴

Age: 3| Weight: 9-0| J: Rob Hornby| T: P J McBride| OR: 76

14/1

Landed a bit of a touch at Yarmouth last September and improved on that when a short head winner at Wolverhampton on her final start of the year; may well progress again this year, but does need to prove herself at this trip.

Forecasts

Bold Suitor (11/10), Transition (5/2), Stanford (9/2), Manaabit (14/1), Blausee (14/1)

TRANSITION proved too good for Stanford at Kempton last time out and although he has a bit more to do at the weights, he has the scope for better and might get his own way up front in this small field. He can score again before the handicapper starts to catch up with him. Manaabit is another that's unexposed and might be the one to give the selection most to think about. although in truth all five can be given some sort of a chance.
