Sole win came in a point-to-point with no victories under rules but has held up form well. Placed on last three starts including 3L third at Warwick (2m4f) last month. Dangerously poised off 1lb lighter.
Only completed two of his last four starts but those have been encouraging placed efforts (third and second). Weakening when falling two from home at Uttoxeter last time (3m) but every chance of a bounce back.
Likeable veteran who won on seasonal debut at Taunton in October and generally holding his mark since. Flattered to decieve when distant third at Fontwell (2m5f) in January and up against some progressive rivals in this.
Bumper winner who looked written off in some classier contests but took advantage of drop in class with 4L second at Wincanton (2m4f) last time. Off the same mark and not without hope.
Veteran who remains a maiden under rules and looked to be struggling when pulling up on first two starts from enforced absence. Much better effort when 11L third at Sedgefield last time and expected to come on again.
19-race maiden but has placed in each effort bar one for this handler. Respectable 2L third at Market Rasen and Warwick (2m) and now 1lb higher. Considered but slightly unproven at this trip.
Rarely troubling the judge as of late despite winning at this track last season. Nightmare race last time with 17L defeat at Leicester (2m) and needs a significant bounce back to be competitive.
Won over fences at Wincanton last April and yet to fire in three starts for this handler. 11L defeat at Exeter was a bit better but plenty more needed on recent form.
Forecasts
Granitic (9/4), Ballyart (11/4), Timcoda (6/1), Sandford Castle (13/2), Hurricane Vic (9/1), Torrent Des Mottes (12/1), Arquebusier (16/1), Kahdian (16/1)
This race has thrown in some encouraging form lines and it could be the chance for the now-progressive BALLYART to gain a deserved win under rules. His latest staying-on effort at Warwick suggests he is still in form but interestingly hasn't been greatly penalised for that. He looks the one to beat despite his top weight. Two horses recently returned to form in the shape of Granitic and Sandford Castle which puts them right in the mix to progress once, while the exposed Arquebusier has held his mark this season and should be thereabouts if some others falter.
