Remains a maiden after seven starts and was promising on handicap debut but not as good recently. Only 2lb lighter for recent 27L defeat (3m) so plenty more is needed.

Conjuring Trick35
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-12| J: Tom Buckley(7)| T: C E Longsdon| OR:  102WS

Raced in novice hurdles to date with very little effect. Tailed off on most recent start at Ludlow (2m5f) in February and has had wind surgery since, but looks to have a tough task on handicap debut.

Pillar Of Steelh138
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-10| J: J E Moore| T: J L Spearing| OR:  100

Last promising effort came back in October but struggled in two starts since. Out of her depth when 100/1 fifth at Taunton (2m) last month. This is easier and mark is currently workable. Each-way claims.

Found wanting in maiden/novice hurdle contests over the winter, but outran her odds when promising third at Wincanton (2m) last month. Not penalised for that and has solid claims.

Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Liam Harrison(7)| T: F O'Brien| OR:  98WS
5/1
Irish point-to-point winner and has had modest form over hurdles to date. Well-beaten by subsequent Listed winner at Warwick (2m5f) on New Year's Eve. Not seen since but had wind surgery. Interesting.
6

Kentford Mallard53
Age: 7|  Weight: 11-8| J: Kevin Jones(3)| T: J W Mullins| OR:  98| D
14/1
Mixing it over fences this season to not success, with regressive efforts the last two starts. Latest sixth of eight at Taunton (2m5f) suggests she has a bit to prove. Returns to hurdles.
7

Candy Lou14
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: J M Quinlan| T: Joanne Thomason-Murphy| OR:  97
22/1
Yet to win from six starts under rules and starting to look very limited. Never really a factor when seventh of 13 at Market Rasen (2m4f) last month and opening mark looks high enough.
8
Horse silk
Mrsgrey85
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-7| J: Edward Austin(7)| T: Henry Oliver| OR:  97
9/2
Not showing the brightest sparks this term with three poor efforts, including 24L sixth at Catterick (2m3f) in December. Not seen since but has put up encouraging efforts in the spring though.
9
Horse silk
Madam Malina53
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-4| J: Harry Bannister| T: W Greatrex| OR:  94
11/1
Runner-up in Ludlow bumper over a year ago but failed to go on since. Showed some signs of encouragement when seventh at Taunton (2m3f) and likely to appreciate the ground. Claims.
10
Horse silk
Backoftheenvelopet132
Age: 5|  Weight: 11-4| J: Bridget Andrews| T: D Skelton| OR:  94
20/1
Tried in tougher contests on her three starts to date without success. Toiled when seventh at Uttoxeter (2m) last time but looks more suited to handicaps and has a likeable opening mark.
11
Horse silk
Drumreaghp197
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-3| J: David Bass| T: K Bailey & M Nicholls| OR:  93
16/1
Best effort came when fifth on hurdles bow in October but severely regressed since that run. Latest tailed off effort at Leicester (2m) in December suggests she's out of her depth.
12
Horse silk
Kymata15
Age: 6|  Weight: 11-0| J: Aaron Anderson(7)| T: Sean Conway| OR:  90
100/1
Rank outsider for last four starts and running accordingly, including 32L fifth in 2m Catterick maiden hurdle in late February. No obvious signs of change in form and hard to fancy.
13
Horse silk
Fair And Dandy55
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-8| J: T J O'Brien| T: H D Daly| OR:  84WS
16/1
Beaten a grand total of 149L in all of her starts to date and was tailed off in 2m Ludlow novice hurdle on latest start. Has had wind operation in bid to try and bring some improvement.
14
Horse silk
Tara Wellp,t58
Age: 10|  Weight: 10-1| J: Ceris Biddle(10)| T: R Dickin| OR:  77| DWS
9/1
Can be in and out but has had some promising efforts and showed up well for a long way when sixth at Lingfield (2m3f) in January. Had wind surgery since and fallen onto dangerous mark. Considered.

Midnightreflection (7/2), Mrsgrey (9/2), Agent Valdez (5/1), Brophies Doll (8/1), Tara Well (9/1), Madam Malina (11/1), Kentford Mallard (14/1), Fair And Dandy (16/1), Drumreagh (16/1), Backoftheenvelope (20/1), Candy Lou (22/1), Conjuring Trick (22/1), Pillar Of Steel (33/1), Kymata (100/1)

Verdict

In what looks a poor-looking yet open contest, claims can be made for the chances of BACKOFTHEENVELOPE, who struggled in other company but looks to have been given a chance by the handicapper on her bow in this company. Madam Malina has generally failed to go on since her runner-up position a year ago but should appreciate ground conditions, while the likes of Mrsgrey and Tara Well come into this off the back of falling marks and seem to be well-handicapped.
