The Two Amigos23
Age: 8|  Weight: 11-12| J: Matt Griffiths| T: Nicky Martin| OR:  140| D
11/8
Progressive staying handicap chaser last season who has shaped well this year without winning especially in the Haydock Grand National Trial last time. Gets a slight ease in the weights/grade here, travels well and has leading claims.

Rolling Dylanp61
Age: 9|  Weight: 11-7| J: T J O'Brien| T: P Hobbs & J White| OR:  135| BF
7/2
Extended his long losing run last time at Ludlow looking as though he could do with further help from the handicapper. Has his quirks and connections are relying on a break to have freshened him up; others have sounder claims.
3

Pobbles Bay23
Age: 10|  Weight: 11-4| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams| OR:  132| D
12/1
Tends to run in marathon staying handicaps although he often looks stretched by such tests and showed little from out of the handicap last time (well behind The Two Amigos). Nearing his last winning mark but still has plenty to do here.

Dawson City17
Age: 11|  Weight: 11-1| J: Thomas Bellamy| T: P Gundry| OR:  129| C
7/1
Strong in the betting when seeking his third consecutive Devon National win he flopped badly never really getting into contention. Shaped well previously and is a course winner so may be able to bounce back, hard to write off.

Fort Gabriel19
Age: 9|  Weight: 10-10| J: Callum McKinnes(7)| T: D G Bridgwater| OR:  124| C
8/1
Given an 8lb rise for his successful Ludlow return under today's rider at a time the yard were going well he ran respectably over the same C&D last time. Now back with his last winning rider on board (can claim this time); has a fair chance.

Seaston Spiritb38
Age: 7|  Weight: 10-2| J: Aidan Coleman| T: O Sherwood| OR:  116
5/1
Made light work of back-to-back heavy ground chases at Lingfield and Uttoxeter in December but in a much lesser grade than he faces here. Struggle off his revised mark when last seen (1lb lower here); up in trip, faces an exacting task.

Forecasts

The Two Amigos (11/8), Rolling Dylan (7/2), Seaston Spirit (5/1), Dawson City (7/1), Fort Gabriel (8/1), Pobbles Bay (12/1)

Verdict

The drop in grade will suit THE TWO AMIGOS who hasn’t quite progressed as expected this year but has still run some sound races in hotter company than he faces here. Caught the eye in the Haydock Grand National Trial last time out and he’s taken to get back to winning ways in this company. Pobbles Bay was behind the suggestion last time but he too is given an easier task with his mark now easing to approach his last winning one. Fort Gabriel arrives on the back of two solid Ludlow performances and although his mark now looks stiff enough he should go well along with course winner Dawson City who needs to bounce back from a poor display last time.
  1. The Two Amigos
  2. Fort Gabriel
  3. Dawson City
