Not seen in action since two modest efforts on turf at Redcar in May/June. Down in class but needs to prove he retains ability and is opposable under top weight this time.

Got up late to win over C&D last month and high on the shortlist given that tenacious performance. Notably still on a competitive mark despite the 4lb hike.

Not seen since last November but 2019 was profitable for the gelding as he thrived on a set of challenges. He won from a mark of 67 here last February and finished the campaign on a mark of 80. Just 1lb higher today but likely he'll need the run.

Won twice in South Africa in the summer of 2018 but the gelding's form on these shores has been modest at best. Plenty to prove now upped in trip for his first run since last August.

Has a good attitude but is of limited ability and again looks a risky proposition for win only purposes despite being back on a winning mark. (All that said, this is a weak race and he's won here before, so a market move could still be interesting.)

Likes this course and no issues with the trip. However, he's been defeated 23 times since winning here last January and cannot be forwarded with anything more than tepid confidence as he continues to drop in the ratings.

Had Mickey ½l behind when winning here last November and has to be noted he's now 3lb below that winning mark. This looks weaker than some of he recent assignments and he could be good value to bounce back.

Has form that ties in with a few of these and wasn't beaten that far by Mickey here last time out (beaten 4½l but is now 5lb better off at the weights). Good chance he can reverse the form over a C&D that suit him well.

Forecasts

Mickey (5/2), Michele Strogoff (4/1), My Target (9/2), Tricorn (7/1), International Law (15/2), Givinitsum (9/1), Sea Fox (10/1), Regular Income (22/1)

Verdict

A chance is taken that INTERNATIONAL LAW can make the most of the revised terms and get one over on Mickey, who was is respected after last month's C&D win but has more to do from a 4lb higher mark. Sea Fox also has solid claims on the pick of his efforts and could easily bounce back at this level. Regular Income is another with a feasible chance of going close if he returns in good heart after his winter break, whereas My Target has bits and pieces of good form but is hard to predict and is risky for win only purposes.
