C&D winner in a conditions stakes earlier this month - had Another Touch 6¼l behind; reversing previous Newcastle form with that rival in the process - but has a stiffer test back in a handicap. Respected but a personal best now required.

In cracking form on the AW this winter and had won three on the bounce before being held by Via Serendipity last time; was possibly too keen that day but still had little excuse and was well held at the line. Stern test again here.

All six of his previous wins on the AW have been at Lingfield; including a game effort to win (1m, standard, Polytrack) last time out. Respected once more but effectiveness on the Tapeta surface creates an issue.

Lightly raced in comparison to a few of the others and certainly has more scope; was a close second to Via Serendipity here in early February but is now much better off at the weights. Good chance he'll reverse the form on these terms; a player.

Entitled to be thereabouts on the pick of his form but recent efforts (behind the likes of Via Serendipity, Goring, and Fox Power) leave him with a bit to find at present. The rider's claim is a help at the weights but others look more convincing

Given time after being gelded last year but done reasonably well since joining his current yard; two wins on the Polytrack at Kempton last September being the highlights so far. Possibly unsuited by dropping back to 7f latest but still more on here.

Confidence boosted by winning a five-runner handicap (Class 3, 1m) at Kempton in early February but lacks consistency and might find a few of the others are more wily at this level. (Wolverhampton form not as strong as elsewhere.)

Returned from a break with a couple of respectable efforts to be placed at Newcastle in January/February and is not fully exposed in handicaps. Benefits from a handy draw and is one to monitor closely in the betting.

Comfortable winner of a five-runner handicap at Lingfield last week and entitled to another shot at this level. Best form has been posted over 1m2f in the past so will need to be at his very best in this company.

All previous wins registered on turf and although he's handled the AW, he's 0-6 so far and has floundered when tried in this grade previously. Respectable form figures and runs for a top yard but still plenty to prove in a first-time visor.

Good effort to win at this level at Kempton in December (Fox Power was 1½l behind in third that day) but no joy in three tough looking races in Dubai since. Dangerous to rule out back here; has been placed over C&D before; worth considering.

Already has five wins and four placed effort to his name at this course so merits respect as the conditions will suit, and he's got the best of the draw. However, he can be slowly away and is another who could find this company too hot to handle.

Forecasts

Fox Power (7/4), Via Serendipity (4/1), Red Bond (6/1), Kaser (8/1), Kasbaan (9/1), Rathbone (10/1), Assimilation (12/1), Another Touch (12/1), Smile A Mile (20/1), Goring (22/1), Nonios (33/1), Pinnata (33/1), Arcanada (80/1)

Verdict

Fox Power is highly respected and looks capable of reversing recent form with Via Serendipity on these terms, while Assimilation and Another Touch are a couple of others who have very little to find and are also worth monitoring closely in what is traditionally a strong betting heat. However, there could be some ground to be made with the relatively unexposed (in handicaps at least) RATHBONE and he could have a lot more to offer now he's proved he can handle an artificial surface (finished as runner up in both previous runs on Tapeta at Newcastle). A step forward will bring him into the thick of the action here.
