Deservedly off the mark for connections at the sixth time of asking over hurdles landing a Down Royal maiden over 2m½f on good ground in May; fair debut over fences at Thurles in February; should improve and can go well.
Has not quite got the hang of fences yet but has plenty of potential; fell when travelling soundly at Leopardstown recently; quick reappearance a plus but current non completion rate needs to factored into any price taken.
Another who is still coming to terms to racing over fences; clearly has ability evidenced by first spin in a chase at Roscommon; recent run over hurdles may have sharpened him up and one to consider.
Fair effort on chase debut at Clonmel in December; brought down when making progress on only other chase run at Limerick later that month; hard to assess at present but could be going in the right direction.
Plenty of experience over fences with best effort coming in a Wexford handicap in October; worryingly pulled up when last seen in February and has plenty to prove at present.
Still looking for a first career win, but twice runner-up at Downpatrick last year, including in the Ulster National; slightly below par on last four racecourse appearances including being pulled up in the early stages recently at Leopardstown.
Maiden hurdler; has shown the occasional glimpse of form and maybe chasing will be his game but difficult to recommend and probably best watched on chase debut.
Forecasts
Discordantly (4/6), Flawless Escape (4/1), Mount Hanover (9/2), Calicojack (12/1), School Lane (16/1), Montagne D'Argent (20/1), Carnet De Stage (33/1)
DISCORDANTLY has proved frustrating for backers no more so than last time out at Leopardstown when appearing to ping his fences before making a schoolboy mistake halfway round. On balance he should be worth another chance especially in this field though backers need to be aware he may not finish. Calicojack has been brought on slowly and showed plenty of promise on his chase debut at Thurles last month. He is entitled to improve on that and could be the one to take advantage if the selection fails to get round. Flawless Escape has had his fair share of problems over fences but if his mistakes have been ironed out then he could go well.
- Discordantly
- Flawless Escape
- Calicojack
