Tough and genuine sort. Landed his second win of a three-race career at this venue last month on handicap debut off an 11lb lower mark. Life more difficult from revised mark.
C&D winner who continues to run well in defeat in a number of starts at this track between September and November last year. Looks a tall order on return to action.
Lightly raced filly, last seen struggling on a couple of occasions last summer for trainer William Haggas. Market check required on first start for new connections.
In great form currently running well since November at a variety of AW tracks in the UK as well as this venue. Third of 10 behind Sceptical on latest start over 6f last month. Will look to bounce back.
In the frame in four of his five starts for trainer Willie Haggas including victories on the AW at Kempton and Newcastle in 2018 before a near two-year hiatus. Well held on both comeback starts here over 1m and 6f. Tough ask.
Needs to improve on a couple of dismal efforts on return to action here last month well beaten over 6f and 7f. C&D winner worth a market check dropping in trip.
Off the mark at the 10th time of asking when landing a 12 runner handicap contest over C&D last month off a 1lb lower mark. Continues to run well in defeat and worthy of consideration in first-time cheekpieces.
Off the mark at the 10th time of asking for connections landing a maiden last month over C&D. Highly tried at Group and Listed level at two and more expected in this contest.
Winner over C&D the Pivotal gelding needs to put a dismal effort over the combination at the end of January to have any hope of playing a role in the finish.
Forecasts
Sceptical (7/4), Aloysius Lilius (9/2), Primo Uomo (5/1), American Lady (6/1), Enough Said (6/1), Flarepath (11/1), Empire State (14/1), Red Cymbal (16/1), Tanseeq (33/1)
The Denis Hogan-trained SCEPTICAL can land a hat-trick of wins for owner James McAuley following a couple of impressive victories over 6f. The four-year-old has a tough rise in the ratings to overcome but has the potential to hold off the likes of Aloysius Lilius and C&D winner Enough Said who continues to run well in defeat of late. Red Cymbal could go well at a big price.
