Made plenty of appeal on pedigree prior to making her Kempton debut over 1m where she showed plenty of ability despite showing a little greenness. Steps up 2f in trip which ought to suit and unlock some further progress on a surface she acts on.

Well-bred sort who looked far from ready to do herself justice on her debut here over 1m late last year (slow away, struggled some way out). Not fancied in the betting last time she's likely to improve for this trip and should be sharper now.
Newcomer from a powerful yard who run two in this; cost 38,000 guineas as a yearling. Half-sister to French 1m winner Marie de Medicis and 1m3f winner Dolly McQueen; dam stayed well; market may well tell the story with stablemate.

Very little to take from an underwhelming debut over 1m (finished just behind Lake Lucerne) having started at 33-1 and showed only a lack of experience. Upped in trip but will need to leave that opening run well behind to make an impact.
70,000 guineas yearling from a top-flight yard who makes her debut here out of a maiden dam who stayed 7f but was related to a couple of smart sorts. Hard to ignore one from this stable and very much one to note in the market.

Looks to be the lesser-fancied of the two runners from this yard having looked to be lacking inexperience on her only run so far at Doncaster (1m, soft). Now switched to the AW and upped in trip; should pick up a race in time, faces a fair task here.

Promising sort who shaped really well on her sole start so far despite showing some inexperience in the early stages she finished to good effect over 1m. Not ideally placed the effort can be marked up and this extra 2f will come as a welcome bonus.

Forecasts

Festive Love (5/4), Lake Lucerne (3/1), Scherzo (4/1), Margueritedevalois (7/1), My Girl Maggie (16/1), Ruby Shield (33/1), Maximize (50/1)

Verdict

A maiden that looks to have runners with some scope and it won’t be surprise if it produces future winners. Festive Love sets a good standard having taken the runner-up slot on her debut but it’s SCHERZO with a very similar profile who just shades the argument having impressed on her Newcastle debut already looking as though this 1m2f trip was needed. It won’t be a surprise to see her stablemate Ruby Shield run well on her AW debut with the Gosden pair Lake Lucerne and Margueritedevalois adding some strength in depth, the betting may prove useful in splitting that pair and ascertaining the expectations of newcomer My Girl Maggie.
  1. Scherzo
  2. Festive Love
  3. Ruby Shield
