Out of form since returning to action over fences in December. More needed with a couple of better handicapped sorts lurking.
One from 12 over fences. Not disgraced in a number of starts over hurdles and the larger obstacles since October but has failed to worry the judge on any occasion. Others hold stronger claims.
Miserly return of one from 23 over the chase obstacles and has appeared to struggle in a number of starts since November. First time cheekpieces unlikely to bring about the required amount of progression needed to land a blow here.
Never a factor in three starts over fences since November with the gelding finishing a well beaten 68L on his latest start at Naas when last seen in December.
Five-race maiden over fences for this daughter of Grandera. Needs to find a bit of her point-to-point form and December run at this venue when third of 12 beaten 1¾L. Place claims.
Has failed to hit the frame in 16 starts over the larger obstacles, though not disgraced in a number of recent starts since October. Needs others to run below-par to have a chance in this contest.
Improvement since the turn of the year continued with a career best effort over fences when second of 15 beaten 2L in a Down Royal handicap chase over 2m4f in January. One to note.
Six-race maiden, yet to hit the frame in three starts over fences since his debut in June. Well beaten on latest start at this venue in December and remains easy to oppose.
Failed to build on a career best effort at Down Royal in January with a subdued effort before pulling up at Gowran Park last month. Chance if putting last run behind him.
Won on last point-to-point start in May before return to post a number of wretched efforts over fences between October and last month. Not one to place a great deal of faith in.
Has returned from over 12 months off to post a couple of dismal efforts over hurdles and in a Cross Country chase at Punchestown last month. Needs to improve to take a hand here.
Three from 35 over fences the veteran has ran with plenty of credit in a number of starts over fences since the start of December. Can give a good account without posing serious threat to principals.
14-race maiden, without a success in eight starts over the larger obstacles. Needs to bounce back in a big way to have a say in the finish.
Forecasts
Misty Adage (9/2), West Is Best (6/1), Fivecardstud (6/1), Flynsini (13/2), Gold Sun (13/2), Sanibel Island (9/1), Garrai Phaidin (10/1), Ballymac Boy (10/1), Sliabh Mhuire Lass (12/1), Whoyakodding (16/1), Lacken Bridge (25/1), Ilsnepasserontpas (25/1), Doolough Lad (25/1)
MISTY ADAGE can improve on her career best effort over fences when second of 15 beaten 2L in a Down Royal handicap chase over 2m4f in January. The J J Mangan-trained seven-year-old can land the spoils at the seventh time of asking for connections at the expense of Fivecardstud, the mount of jockey Jamie Codd. In a weak looking closer, Sliabh Mhuire Lass and Flynisi are more than capable of hitting the frame.
- Misty Adage
- Fivecardstud
- Flynsini
