Had been showing some promise late last year including being placed at Ayr in October; bounced back into form on penultimate at Navan but below par last time at Punchestown over hurdles.
Well beaten in all his outings over hurdles though slightly improved effort last time at Thurles but this still looks a tough test on chase debut.
Has been showing steadily improving form over fences and would likely have been involved in the finish if not falling two flights from home on penultimate start; needs to bounce back from below par effort last time but could still go well.
Grade 1 hurdle winner in 2018; had his fair share of problems last season and ran below his best on every occasion; certainly has class and has one chase run under his belt at Down Royal in November; leading chance if progressing.
Front runner who failed to translate his fair point-to-point form onto the racetrack proper; pulled up at Fairyhouse and well beaten at Punchestown in maiden hurdles this season; chasing may bring the best out of him but hard to back with confidence
Mixed bag of results over hurdles on latest starts and deeply unimpressive on only chase outing to date at Naas in December; open to improvement but does not look the most likely winner.
Well held on all three chase starts to date; will have come on for those experiences and could do well in time but difficult to pick her as the winner on racecourse evidence to date.
Forecasts
Discordantly (6/4), Dortmund Park (2/1), Turbojet (5/1), Half The Odds (9/1), Hotel Du Nord (12/1), Ask Cory (25/1), Chesterville (66/1)
Given his training problems it is possibly not a great idea to take too short a price about him on his second appearance over fences but DORTMUND PARK certainly is the class horse in the line-up and even if showing half the ability he had over hurdles then he will prove hard to beat. His first chase effort was underwhelming but he can progress. Discordantly needs to bounce back from a below par run last time but showed he had ability when looking in a good position when falling on his penultimate start at Punchestown. It is possible Ask Cory has been freshened up with a few spins over hurdles and returns to fences here having shown some ability in the past.
- Dortmund Park
- Discordantly
- Ask Cory
