Dual 7f AW winner, the latter on Wolvrhampton's Polytrack in a classified event two starts ago. Ran well to be a head second back in a handicap at Southwell last time (6f) under a penalty, and carries that again today back up in trip. Player.
Triple turf winner who is 0-5 on AW so far, and yet to make the frame on artificial surfaces. Plummeting in he weights, and visor now goes on, but can't recommend him on AW evidence to date.
Finally off the mark at the 22nd attempt when scoring over C&D last time, in a 0-55. Front pair had 1L to spare over the third there. He is up 3lb for that and this is theoretically weaker, so he has to be on shortlists again.
Scored over C&D last month, when 4lb lower and in first-time tongue-tie. Bettered that back here next time, and although not quite as good at Chelmsford latest, he very much enters calculations at this venue again.
Placed just once from 12 starts, and well beaten on both runs since he had wind surgery last June. Not seen since July, and others make more appeal.
Yet to make the frame from nine attempts under both codes. Even his best couple of runs on the Flat would make him no more than an outside chance of making the frame here, so improvement is needed.
Multiple winner on both turf and AW, including here over 7f as recently as November. 1lb lower here, and had been running respectably lf late, including over C&D last time. Should be competitive.
Off the mark at the eighth attempt last time, when scoring over 7f at this track. Front pair were over 4L clear there, so 3lb looks very fair. Claims if he gets this trip, but has that to prove judged on previous runs.
Unplaced in all nine outings under both codes and beaten a long way both here and at Southwell in just two runs this winter. Can only watch.
Multiple winner, his three AW successes coming on Southwell's Fibresand over 7f/1m. A light of former days, however, and hasn't won since 2016. Well held back at that venue on stable debut. In good hands, but only of interest if well supported.
Five-time turf Flat winner, but 0-5 on AW surfaces. Has never been competitive away from turf, which is a big concern, and probably best watched returning from a break/wind surgery, unless market vibes strong.
Triple winner on both turf and AW (all three here over 7f). Now on a 16-race losing run, but couldn't write him off in this field after a better effort last time. Each-way possibilities.
Beaten a long way in two runs last April for Eve Johnson Houghton. Has at least shown a bit more than that in two runs here for this trainer, over 6f/7f. Cheekpieces go on for step up in trip, with good pilot booked. Interesting.
Ran with some credit on his first try at this track (5f) in October, and then went very close over C&D last time, in a 0-60 event. Looks well treated given his age allowance if he is able to reproduce that. Contender.
Forecasts
Aiden's Reward (3/1), Watheer (5/1), With Approval (13/2), Hunters Step (13/2), Gun Case (9/1), Klipperty Klopp (10/1), Deolali (12/1), Dark Devil (16/1), Pumaflor (16/1), Forever Mine (20/1), Lethal Guest (25/1), Captain Revelation (25/1), Dragons Will Rise (33/1), Picture Your Dream (50/1)
Watheer looks a likely contender once again. It would be no surprise to see him win, but he is due to drop 3lb in the handicap, so is hardly thrown in. Forever Mine looks interesting with Paul Mulrennan up, but AIDEN'S REWARD ran really well here last time, and in the hope that he can produce a repeat effort, is selected. Klipperty Klopp and Hunters Step also make some appeal.
- Aiden's Reward
- Klipperty Klopp
- Watheer
