Sole win was gained at Newcastle in December 2018 but plenty of solid efforts in defeat since and disappointing run last time due to making effort too soon off a strong pace. Blinkers now tried and this represents a drop in grade.
Has found 1m1f stretching his stamina last two runs and will appreciate this return to 1m. Best effort last season was at this track and now drops down to 0-70 company for the first time. Gelded since last seen.
Yet another switch in headgear tried here but comes here off the back of a tame effort at Southwell on latest and losing run goes back 21 runs to Newcastle in January last year so needs to eke out some improvement.
Bounced back to best when landing a gamble over 1m2f at Chelmsford in December. Unable to cope with the 8lb rise when well beaten only run since. Now drops down to 1m and market watch advised.
First-time tongue-tie worked when he won over C&D last month by a head and unsurprisingly it's retained here.. Lightly raced at this trip and more to come with just a 1lb rise to contend with. Solid claims.
Followed his Wolverhampton win (7f) with a third there though below best here on latest. Versatile trip wise and type to bounce back though this a slightly better race.
Off the mark at Wolverhampton in October (1m1f) and not disgraced in two subsequent runs at slightly further afterwards. Off since December and down in trip now, but was backed for her scheduled return last week when race was abandoned.
Creditable second at Epsom in August on first run for this yard but hasn't really built on that and his tendency to pull hard has resurfaced of late. More needed and others make more appeal.
All three career wins were gained over 7f in 2017 but lightly raced since and has shown enough in two recent runs for this yard to be of interest here. Now steps up 1m and one to note if market speaks in his favour.
Similar level of ability in trio of maidens and now makes handicap debut. Opening mark leaves him with something to find. Cheekpieces tried last time retained here.
Forecasts
Merweb (11/4), Fares Poet (4/1), Canasta (9/2), River Dawn (5/1), Glory of Paris (10/1), Critical Thinking (12/1), Siege Of Boston (14/1), Zhukovsky (16/1), Juanito Chico (16/1), Admodum (20/1)
CANASTA has a wide draw to overcome but appeals as the type to improve this season and is preferred to River Dawn who like the selection is lightly raced for his age. Siege Of Boston has hinted of late that his ability is still intact and any money for him would make him of further interest.
- Canasta
- River Dawn
- Siege Of Boston
