Three wins from just eight starts on turf in Italy (6f-7f); has run to a broadly consistent level of form on the AW (0-3) since joining Marco Botti for 22,000gns (Dec 2019); finished fourth to Kwela on her penultimate start.
Has progressed through the ranks in recent months winning on three separate occasions (6f-1½f) since late September, including at Wolverhampton 31 days ago (Geizy Teizy third, Exceed Loose fourth); 4lb higher.
Made a winning start for Roger Fell, scooting clear of Monday's Southwell winner National Anthem over 6f here three weeks ago; has won over 7f at Dundalk in the past (never over 1m); 7lb higher; worth chancing?
Twice runner-up here (6f) earlier in her racing career; has progressed since then into a proficient handicapper with three wins on turf (6f-1m); 4lb above her last winning mark; is returning from a five-month absence (158 days).
Has maintained her form in recent weeks despite nudging ever so gently up the weights; has recent previous with both Kwela and Exceed Loose (closely matched); the booking of Silvestre De Sousa is an obvious positive angle..
By Kingman; half-sister to the useful Richard Pankhurst; this petite filly resented the Southwell kickback (penultimate) before being seen in a much more positive light in a Wolverhampton novice (1m½f) in mid December; makes her handicap debut.
Five career wins on Polytrack; rallied gamely to see off Saikung by a neck in a 1m Cl 4 fillies' handicap at Kempton in mid December; far from disgraced in two subsequent starts; remains fairly weighted; place possible.
Forecasts
Millicent Fawcett (7/4), Geizy Teizy (11/4), Dandys Gold (7/2), Kwela (7/1), Roman Spinner (10/1), Caustic Love (20/1), Exceed Loose (25/1)
The handicapper has ample evidence to assess the respective merits of Kwela, Geizy Teizy and Exceed Loose (closely matched), so it'll come as a surprise if any of that trio run out the decisive winner. John Gosden's Millicent Fawcett will head the market on her handicap debut. A wide-margin novice winner at Wolverhampton (form modest) she'd clearly resented the Southwell kickback prior. However, she is rather petite in terms of physique and the suspicion remains that she's only an average performer. Therefore, assuming that her stamina reserves hold the recent course winner DANDYS GOLD could prove capable of doubling-up for the astute Roger Fell.
- Dandys Gold
- Millicent Fawcett
- Roman Spinner
