Posted a rare modest effort over C&D in December but has an affinity with this course and could easily bounce back. Currently 4lb above her last winning mark so still needs to register a career best if she's going to cope under top weight, though.
Had been progressing nicely until undone by a wide draw at Chelmsford last time out but might be worth giving her a chance to redeem herself. The filly is a prime candidate to ensure there is a strong pace and no surprise to see her go close.
Won a Newcastle maiden (1m) as a juvenile but has so far been unable to live up to a rating in the mid-eighties; been dropped 5lb since her return last summer but still looking high in the weights on recent evidence.
An eight-time winner on the AW and very well handicapped on past displays; and snippets of recent form also give him a chance of making the frame on these terms. However, more than likely at least one of his younger rivals will be too good.
Made a winning start as a juvenile (7.5f, good to soft) in August 2018 but only seen twice since. However, he proved he retains ability with a near miss over this trip at Newcastle earlier this month and is dangerous to underestimate; considered.
Never won beyond a mile before but coped encouragingly well on his only other previous attempt over this trip; gets on well with today's rider so further cause for optimism. 0-9 on the AW, though.
C&D winner but well held off this mark here on Saturday and faces a stiff test in this higher grade. Generally been in good form since joining his current yard but now has something to prove.
Forecasts
Maximum Effect (9/4), Noble Peace (3/1), Palavecino (7/2), My Target (13/2), Thechildren'strust (10/1), The Jean Genie (11/1), Mostawaa (12/1)
Maximum Effect can ensure this is run at a good clip and it would be no surprise if she were able to slip her field if allowed a soft lead. However, there might be more to come from the lightly raced PALAVECINO and having the challenge of a racing partner up front might just bring the best out of him. Thechildren'strust has a chance of making the frame on the pick of his efforts but needs to conclusively prove 1m2f is within his capabilities, so it might be down to 'old stager' My Target to give the main suggestions the most to think about.
- Palavecino
- Maximum Effect
- My Target
