Beaten into second place on all his hurdles starts; consistency is very encouraging and it will be interesting how he fares on his handicap debut though there may be some more progressive types in the field.
Had been putting in some fair performances in maiden hurdles before finally getting his head in front last time out at Punchestown; possible he may progress further now his confidence is up and one to consider.
Has plenty of ability and experience; has been racing on the AW at Dundalk but hurdles form is consistent enough to suggest she is capable of winning a handicap off her current mark; market moves would be interesting.
Has taken his time to life over hurdles but has shown promise on a number of occasions and ran a fair effort at Gowran Park earlier this month; needs to improve jumping but will win races once things click.
Put all known form behind her when winning confidently at Punchestown last time out despite not looking particularly well handicapped; up in the weights now but could be progressive and worthy of note.
Won his last two starts on the Flat at the Curragh and Galway (both over 7f on testing ground) but has found things tougher over hurdles; has shown glimpses of form and will be more competitive once he sorts out his jumping.
Not disgraced on handicap debut at Limerick late last month; still looks progressive and one to consider off what looks a fair handicap mark.
Two fair placed efforts at Ballinrobe and Limerick either side of being tailed off at Galway; lack of consistency a worry but reasonable chance on the best of his form.
Has proved a frustrating hurdler to date mainly due to some very poor jumping displays; hard to recommend on racecourse evidence but respected nevertheless from top yard.
Appears to have gone backwards after showing plenty of promise on hurdles debut at Limerick in late December; too early to write off but overall form does not inspire much confidence.
Forecasts
Instant Return (5/2), Pasley (7/2), Yafordadoe (11/2), Nobel Joshua (7/1), Fassbender (9/1), Sean Says (10/1), Laura Bullion (11/1), Millswyn (12/1), Insane Bolt (25/1), Moghram (33/1)
Recent winner INSTANT RETURN may be the one to side with now he has a win under his belt. The gelding showed plenty of guts to win last time at Punchestown (albeit aided by a fall of likely contender and two flights being missed out) and if he can show just a little more improvement then he holds every chance. Perennial runner-up Pasley has probably not been given too many favours by the handicapper but he is wonderfully consistent and will take advantage if any of the more progressive types fail to flourish. Nobel Joshua does not jump off the page as the likely winner but he has shown enough ability to suggest he is capable of winning a handicap off his current mark.
- Instant Return
- Pasley
- Nobel Joshua
