Well beaten in a bumper and two outings over hurdles before two ordinary Flat runs this year. Plenty to find so probably awaiting handicap mark now.

Siyouni colt left ordinary debut here well behind with a sound third of 11 at Lingfield last time out when beaten 3L over this trip. That form as good as any so much will improve on debutants but should go close.

Son of Dark Angel cost 10,000gns at horses in training sale last Autumn. Market will be informative but yard's newcomers not prolific.
55,000gns breeze-up purchase by Aussie sire Brazen Beau a half-brother to two AW winners. Yard in flying form so merits respect on debut.

€35,000 newcomer by Outstrip out of an unraced sister to prolific Mark Johnston performer Watersmeet. Market will be a good guide.

Newcomer by Leroidesanimeaux who is a half-sister to a winner in Russia. Dam was a 7f-1m winner (inc. Italian 1000 Guineas). Yard not renowned for having winning newcomers, so it would be a surprise to see her victorious first time out.

Forecasts

Arctic Vega (11/10), Eastern General (3/1), Paxos (9/2), Dartington (11/2), Trepidation (20/1), Dors Toyboy (25/1), That's A Shame (33/1), Lokal Heroine (40/1), Kylla Looks (50/1)

Verdict

A couple of well-bred newcomers rather cloud the picture but they will have to be pretty useful to beat recent Lingfield third DARTINGTON and he is undoubtedly the standard bearer of those who have raced. Arctic Vega has a very appealing pedigree and is likely to be the biggest threat ahead of Paxos.
  1. Dartington
  2. Arctic Vega
  3. Paxos
