Yet to complete in two starts over the larger obstacles. Very little to be positive about onn third start over fences for the Marienbard gelding.
157-rated hurdler, yet to spark enthusiasm in his first couple of starts over fences at Fairyhouse and at this venue over 2m last month. Appears to be third in the pecking order from stable entrants.
Golan gelding. Slowly improved over his four point-to-point outings culminating in winning a four-runner affair in May. Dismal efforts so far in two chase starts. Appears to have a mountain to climb.
Well Chosen gelding. Dam was unraced sister to Irish National winner Hear The Echo. Finishing positions mask distance beaten in a couple of starts over the larger obstacles so far. Plenty to find in this contest.
Modest 109-rated handicap hurdler. Eighth of 15 beaten 20L on chasing debut in a Clonmel beginners contest on soft ground when last seen in December. Others look more convincing.
125-rated handicapper over hurdles the Black Sam Bellamy gelding hasn't shown the required form in two starts over fences to get competitive in this contest.
One from 17 over hurdle. One run in the last eight months for the Mastercraftsman gelding and unlikely to be making any significant impact on chasing introduction.
Appears to be getting the hang of things finishing in the runner up position in two of his last three starts over the larger obstacles. More needed but a leading player in this company.
Gelding by Presenting. Appears to be struggling to find a niche over both hurdles or fences in a number of dismal efforts since November. Needs a few to falter.
Cost connections £240,000 at the Cheltenham sales 12 months ago for the son of Presenting. Has disappointed in all codes so far including a couple of below-par efforts over fences.
Not much to shout about in a couple of initial start over the larger obstacles at Punchestown and when last seen at Naas in December. Plenty to prove at present.
Every chance two out when falling in a Grade 3 novice chase at Naas last month on his third start over fences. Should be a leading contender in this company.
Was never troubling the leaders on second start over the larger obstacles finishing third of nine at this venue over 2m last month. Bit more needed but enters calculations.
Possibly unfortunate to still be without a win over fences in three starts. Likely to improve on his second of 11 behind Annamix at Fairyhouse last month.
Daughter of Flemensfirth. Well held on both starts over fences so far at Thurles and when last seen at Limerick over Christmas. Needs to improve on overall form.
Forecasts
Voix Des Tiep (9/4), Spyglass Hill (5/2), Milan Native (4/1), Off You Go (7/1), Ontheropes (8/1), Coquin Mans (14/1), Triplicate (20/1), Press Conference (20/1), Half The Odds (33/1), Massey's Wood (33/1), I'mstillyourbaby (66/1), Gold Sun (100/1), Love And Wishes (100/1), Masterstonemason (100/1), Boston Hill (100/1)
SPYGLASS HILL can get off the mark for connections at the fourth time of asking over the larger obstacles. The Henry De Bromhead-trained gelding was in a head-to-head tussle with the highly rated Carefully Selected before coming down two out in a Grade 3 contest at Naas last month. The seven-year-old can makes amends at the expense of Voix Des Tiep who represents trainer Willie Mullins who won this contest 12 months ago with Duc Des Genievres. Milan Native for owners Gigginstown House Stud and the Charles Byrnes-trained Off You Go look set to challenge for minor honours.
- Spyglass Hill
- Voix Des Tiep
- Milan Native
