Had looked a spent force since switching to this yard but bounced right back to best form when surprise winner of C&D handicap six days ago. Escapes penalty and has leading rider on board. Leading contender.

Seven-race maiden whose best effort came at Southwell in April 2019 but returned from absence with poor last of 11 at that track (7f) in late January. Entitled to come on but needs to improve.

C&D winner in the past who showed good form at this track when second on his penultimate start, but never on terms in similar contest at Kempton (1m) last time out. Place claims on previous course form.

Still to win after 11 starts and runner-up in two of last three starts. Folded tamely when sixth of 10 at Southwell (1m) last month and will need to leave that effort behind him.

Now starting to fire since switching to this yard, winning at Newcastle (1m) in mid-January before good third over that track and trip at the start of the month. Off the same mark in this so respected.

Out of luck since May 2019 but running better than the results are suggesting at the moment, including when 3L fifth at Newcastle (1m) last time out. Not being given respite in the handicap however so place claims at best.

Been an outsider in each start to date but offered best effort when never-nearer fifth over 1m2f here last time out. Steps back down in trip which may not be ideal but has some claims.

Previous C&D winner who has started to pick up some of his form, including when narrow third of 15 at this track (1m) six days ago. Quick turnaround but may now be turning a corner.

Yet to really offer some sort of hope during racing career and down the field in two starts for this trainer when last seen in April. Makes comeback with tough ask on her plate.

Winner of similar C&D contest in January but not the same since, including when always behind over C&D six days ago. Now requires a bounce back but wouldn't be a shock if so.

Voice of A Leader20
Age: 9|  Weight: 9-0| J: Joey Haynes| T: C Banham| OR:  49
6/1
Last win came at Lingfield in August and seemingly starting to come back to himself, including when second of nine at Wolverhampton (1m) in late January. 1lb higher mark but each-way shout.

Forecasts

Roca Magica (4/1), Emojie (9/2), Nicky Baby (5/1), Hunters Step (5/1), Voice of A Leader (6/1), Kodi Koh (8/1), Grandee Daisy (11/1), Maykir (14/1), Dukes Meadow (25/1), Amliba (40/1), Picc And Go (100/1)

Verdict

In a similar case to the previous race, GRANDEE DAISY escapes a penalty for a recent impressive success. With the leading AW rider on board and a trainer who excels with getting the most out of these types, it could be another conventional victory for the filly. Nicky Baby is beginning to come back into form that saw him win a C&D contest and is quickly turned out after an encouraging effort, while the likes of Voice of A Leader and Roca Magica have similar profiles from the bottom of the weights.
  1. Grandee Daisy
  2. Nicky Baby
  3. Voice of A Leader
