Previous C&D winner who registered three runs last year. Not returned in same form since however when last of six at Newcastle (5f) just under three weeks ago. Needs to find more.
Veteran who was a smart performer at his peak but has been tumbling down the mark of late. Latest fourth of eight over 6f here last time out and not to be ignored off a further reduced mark again.
Winner at Lingfield in December but not fired in three starts since. Arguably unsuited by fibresand surface at Southwell (6f) nine days ago but needs to re-find form that had in December.
Latest win came at Lingfield in November and looked consistent before modest fifth of seven at Lingfield (5f) last time. Something may have been amiss that day so must be considered.
C&D winner five times in the past and showed he was back in good heart when second over C&D one week ago. May be coming to form once again and expected to go well.
Four wins from 15 runs last year and remained consistent before appalling last of 11 at Wolverhampton (5f) in January. Not her true showing that day and place claims on previous form.
Last win came in September and previous C&D winner. Poor seventh of eight over C&D in mid-January and despite being given a chance by the handicapper, needs more.
C&D winner who hasn't been in good form recently. Poor return from break when with of 11 at Wolverhampton (5f) last month and needs a bounce back to go close in this.

VERNE CASTLE has shown his love for this track with his five victories and bounced back to his better form over C&D last time. He remains on a really workable mark on his best form and looks to be a class apart from rivals under a supremely in-form jockey. Exceptions can be made for Pink Flamingo's effort last time and on her best form is a consistent sort, while the likes of the veteran Lancelot Du Lac and Typhoon Ten have had reduced marks and on their best form may go very close.
