Couldn't get in a blow in her first three runs for this trainer, but produced a more encouraging effort last time out at Wetherby (2m, soft) in a better race than this on Boxing Day. Has claims if able to hold that form.
Offered something to work on in a Wincanton novice in October on first start over timber, not built on that in two runs since but may improve for switch to handicaps; watch betting.
Big prices and tailed off three runs in maiden/novice hurdles so far, ensuring opening handicap mark looks tough. Booking of Brian Hughes hints there may be more to come, however.
Much-improved when winning C&D handicap on New Year's Day on seventh start over timber, has to be respected from 4lb higher mark with that run in mind.
Milan mare, unable to make significant impact in three starts in novice hurdles, including over C&D. Plenty of improvement to find going handicapping as a result.
In good form this season, twice going close over timber at Southwell and Market Rasen before decisive chase win at Bangor (2m1f, heavy; 15-8f) in December. Will have to do more again to defy this rating back hurdling.
Outran odds of 100-1 to be fifth in C&D novice contest last month and no forlorn hope back in a handicap if repeating that showing. Has undergone wind operation since and worth close look for market confidence.
Multiple winner on the Flat but yet to get competitive in three starts in maiden/novice hurdles so far. Cheekpieces back on and something to prove at the moment.
Handles soft, but most of her better efforts have been on a sound surface. On a competitive mark, but was pulled up as a 40-1 chance here last month over longer trip.
Newton Abbot bumper winner on debut in 2018 and early efforts over timber not without promise; however, has lost way since and needs a major bounce-back to get in the frame.
Maiden on the Flat and over hurdles in Ireland for Madeleine Tylicki, sent off 200-1 in a Hexham novice hurdle (2m, heavy) last month on debut for this trainer and came home in her own time.
She has yet to trouble the judge in six starts over timber, going off at fancy prices in each instance. Case not helped in being 7lb 'wrong' on these terms.
Forecasts
Summer Lightening (11/4), Let's Sway (4/1), Miss Amelia (5/1), Sweet Flora (13/2), Destinys Choice (8/1), Iconic Code (9/1), Milanvera (16/1), Call Me Maizie (20/1), Russian Royale (25/1), Madam Scully (25/1), Peace Approved (33/1), Dorette (40/1)
Miss Amelia was rewarded for her consistency with a win over fences at Bangor last time having twice knocked on the door over timber. She's got a 6lb higher mark to defy returned to this sphere and will need a bit extra to do it. Sweet Flora ran well at huge odds in a novice contest here last time and can give a good account while New Year's Day C&D winner Summer Lightening should go well again. LET'S SWAY put in her best effort for current connections when third at Wetherby on Boxing Day against the boys. The front two have held up that form since and, eased in grade against her own sex, she can take the finale.
- Let's Sway
- Summer Lightening
- Miss Amelia
