Toronado colt finished second at Chelmsford and Newcastle before scooting clear at Lingfield (7f, polytrack) by 4½L. Handicap debut today but opening mark may not do justice to this promising youngster.

Seven-race maiden ran his best race since switched to handicaps last time out when third of five beaten 3L over 1m½f here last time out. Signs of promise there but still one of the less fancied runners here.

Won a 6f Naas claimer for Ger Lyons and ran well subsequently at Fairyhouse before joining this yard. Outran 20/1 odds here over 6f latest in a novice event and looked likely to do better over 7f. Not ruled out now.

Forecasts

Corvair (1/3), Ayr Harbour (3/1), What An Angel (4/1), Lethal Talent (12/1), Vormir (20/1)

Verdict

Simon Crisford has his string in fine form both domestically and in the UAE and impressive Lingfield scorer CORVAIR can continue the good run with his opening mark of 86 unlikely to be anywhere near the maximum he will reach this season. Recent Newcastle scorer Ayr Harbour hasn't been harshly treated by the handicapper by any means so he rates the biggest danger ahead of progressive sort Lethal Talent.
  1. Corvair
  2. Ayr Harbour
  3. Lethal Talent
