Always behind and never a factor on hurdles debut here earlier this month; entitled to improve but looks and unlikely winner on that evidence.
2
Horse silk
100/1
Got off the mark in a point-to-point at Necarne (3m) back in May; has shown hints of ability under rules but needs to bouce back from dreadful effort last time out over course and distance to be involved.
3
Horse silk
100/1
Roundly beaten on the two completed hurdles events he has contested and failed to finished when last seen out in November; difficult to see him getting competitive.
Has quite an attractive pedigree, but this son of Jeremy has never been a factor in either of his racecourse starts and another who is unlikely to be up to winning this.

Gelding by Centennial out of a Ballingarry mare. French import; well fancied but disappointed on hurdles debut at Limerick in December though reportedly coughing afterwards; worth another chance for leading stable.

Horse silk
7/2
Disappointing in light of bumper promise when well held on his first two starts over hurdles; has shown a better attitude on his last two appearances here and at Fairyhouse and one to consider from stable who won this race last year.
Well bred son of Milan; well beaten on hurdles debut at Punchestown in November but slightly improved effort last time over course and distance; place chance if improving again.

Cost 48,000 euros as a three-year-old; National Hunt bred who is related to plenty of hurdles and chase winners; market check advised on debut.
9
Horse silk
100/1
Showed little ability in two bumper outings last year and fared even worse on his hurdling debut at Fairyhouse earlier this month; hard to get overly excited about.
10
Horse silk
7/1
Winning start in a Leopardstown bumper in 2016 for Willie Mullins; then missed two years and tailed off at same track in a Grade 2; promising hurdles debut recently at Naas and should be fitter here; one to consider.

Age: 6|  Weight: 11-12| J: E Walsh(7)| T: N Meade| OR:  129
13/8
Fairly experienced hurdler who has had her training problems over the years; best effort came in a handicap hurdle at Punchestown last year when a good second in competitive affair; sound chance if ready after long break.
12
Horse silk
15/8
Landed a bumper on sole start in France and has shaped well in two outings over hurdles including running well last time out at Leopardstown when let down by some sketchy jumping; will be better here and holds every chance.
13
Horse silk
100/1
Has not been the most consistent in hurdles and bumpers in his short career; on the plus side, his best effort came last time out at Limerick in December and that gives him something to build on but still looks opposable.
14
Horse silk
100/1
Kalanisi gelding is a brother to fair hurdler Kalarika and half-brother to a winner on Flat.; no impression and never a factor on only racecourse appearance to date at Naas early this month and could struggle once again.
15
Horse silk
100/1
Finished in the top half of the field last time out at Naas but well beaten previously and was beaten 44 lengths in that Naas outing; open to improvement but hard to suggest he will be capable here.
16
Horse silk
100/1
Tailed off on two of her three racecourse appearances and beaten over 70 lengths on her other start.

Verdict

VILLAGE MYSTIC has had plenty of problems evidenced by being off the track for nearly two year before finishing a moderate third on his reappearance run recently at Naas. If building on that then he should be able to land a maiden hurdle at the very least before long and today looks a good opportunity. Last Minute Man has been showing signs of promise of late with two place finishes of late to his name. He looks to be slowly getting the hang of things and should be challenging for a leading role if progressing again. Fils Spirituel will need to improve his overall jumping but has solid claims if he can.
  1. Village Mystic
  2. Last Minute Man
  3. Fils Spirituel
