Disappointed connections in a number of dismal efforts on turf last summer. Promising fourth over 1m at this track on stable debut last December. Could be vulnerable to a couple of better handicapped sorts.

One from 16 on all starts on the Flat and is yet to hit the frame in four starts at this track including a couple over C&D. Well held at odds of 50/1 over 7f here last month and easy to oppose once again.

Solid and consistent performer in three starts here over 7f in three starts since October and has a couple of victories from nine starts over C&D. Well held and never a factor over the combination in November.

Well held in a couple of starts here over 1m2½f and 1m4f. Needs to take a big step forward for connections to get competitive trying yet another trip on this surface.

Half-brother to several winners including 7f scorer Weekendatbernies. Not out of the question first time blinkers could assist following below-par run over C&D last month.

Off the mark for connections at the seventh time of asking when landing a handicap over C&D in November off a 6lb lower mark. Beaten since when running with plenty of credit over the combination last month.

Running well in defeat with plenty of credit at this venue over 7f and C&D since November. Appears to have every chance of going close in this company.

Step up in trip didn't suit on her latest start here in early December. Should not be taken lightly dropping back to a more appreciated trip.

15-race maiden beaten on all six starts at this track and yet to hit the frame in three starts over 7f. Worth a market check stepping up in trip on second start for yard.

Career best effort on final start for trainer John Butler in the UK finishing third of 10 at Chelmsford over 1m last month. Since 2016 the yard hold a 24% win and place strike rate at this venue in the first three weeks of the year.

Verdict

It's hard to ignore the chances of the Edward Lynam-trained gelding MASALAI. The six-year-old has won two of his nine starts over C&D and can get back to winning ways at the expense of Everyhouronthehour who appears the main danger if reserves Rippling Waters and Munfallet fail to make the line-up. The former Kevin Ryan-trained Rag Tatter could be of interest as a lively outsider on first start for Denis Hogan following a couple of initially promising starts at this venue recently.
