A capable mare; has rediscovered her form since joining Karen Tutty; kept on to finish runner-up to Robero (third placed Forseti was a winner on Monday) over C&D in late December; seemingly sets the benchmark.
Initial promise for Rebecca Menzies (1m Newcastle winner) but arguably found himself plenty high enough in the weights as a result; sits on a reduced mark of 70 on second start for Michael Herrington; could strip fitter on Fibresand debut.
On a long barren run (no win since July 2016); off the track for 89 days since finishing third of 14 to Home Before Dusk at Newcastle (1m) in October; a former stablemate of Elixsoft.
20-race AW maiden; that said, does handle Fibresand as shown when finishing second to Fancy Footings at odds of 40-1 in early November; his latest run (fifth) received a timely boost with Al Suil Eile winning here on Sunday.
Five-time Southwell winner (7f-1m); struck for the first time elsewhere when finishing with a rare old late rattle at Lingfield (1m2f) 16 days ago; 1lb higher; her October C&D win reads reasonably well in the context of this race.
Maiden (0-12); fair to say that consistency isn't his forte and that's perhaps why the visor is newly applied; isn't a forlorn hope on the strength of his better efforts - finished 1¼L third to the in-form Jazz Hands over C&D on New Year's Day.
Pacy front-runner; well handicapped on form from late 2018 but failed to convert a decent opportunity (3-1f) over C&D on New Year's Day; could be more effective with Josephine Gordon back in the saddle.
Forecasts
Tagur (10/3), Momtalik (7/2), Elusive Heights (9/2), Elixsoft (6/1), Bond Angel (13/2), Fieldsman (8/1), Thaayer (8/1)
ELIXSOFT has rediscovered her form since joining Karen Tutty and sets the standard in an otherwise open Class 5 handicap. She finished runner-up to Robero over C&D in late December, with that form receiving a timely boost here on Monday courtesy of the third-placed horse (Forseti). Tagur is handicapped to have a say and should fare better for having Josephine Gordon back in the saddle, while course-specialist Bond Angel demonstrated her current well-being with a surprise (25-1) away-day success on the Polytrack at Lingfield (1m2f) just over a fortnight ago.
