62-rated seven-race Flat maiden for Charlie Hills. Disappointing first couple of starts over hurdles and may do better when sent handicapping.
Regressive 64-race handicapper on the Flat for trainer Eve Johnson-Houghton before never troubling the main protagonists on hurdling debut for current connections; may do better.
78-rated Flat handicapper for trainer Johnny Murtagh. No impression on hurdling debut in a Leopardstown 2m maiden over Christmas. Improved effort expected.
Well held in a couple of starts on the Flat with Ger Lyons. Far from disgraced in five career maiden hurdle appearances since October including a career best effort at Limerick last month. Makes more appeal than most in this contest.
Dubawi gelding, dam a half-sister to a Group placed juvenile winner and a 1m1f winner. Fifth of eight beaten over 9L on sole career start (on the Flat) at Nottingham in April of last year for trainer Roger Varian.
Without a win in 10 starts on the Flat. He was sixth of 10 on his last appearance in France. Pleasing third of 20 beaten over 8L on hurdling debut over C&D late last month. Should be a leading contender in this company.
Was quite smart on the Flat with two wins from five starts on turf. 14th of 20 beaten 40L on debut over C&D last month. More needed.
Fairly useful on the Flat and has shown promise in his three starts over hurdles, particularly when sixth off 22 at Leopardstown last time when bidding to make all; each-way claims if he builds on that.
Showed a useful level of ability when trained on the Flat (placed in Listed company) and was running well prior to falling in the closing stages here at the end of last month; worth giving another chance to.
Gelding by Raven's Pass out of an In The Wings mare. Half-brother to three winners including Meadow Cross a winner over hurdles at 2m4f. Likely to improve for debut run.
Was successful twice on the Flat in big runner handicaps back in October. Not disgraced but more needed here from his first couple of starts over hurdles, both at this venue in November/December.
Daughter of Mahler out of a Flemensfirth mare. Worth a market check on debut for yard who have had four winners from 44 starters over hurdles this season and were among the winners at Thurles on Saturday.
Four-race maiden on the Flat, well beaten on all starts. Never a factor in three starts over hurdles last month and has not shown enough to be of interest in this contest.
Forecasts
Instant Return (15/8), Oak Park (15/8), Politicise (9/2), Three Comets (10/1), Yafordadoe (14/1), Garrison Commander (16/1), Line Break (25/1), Insane Bolt (33/1), Brawny (50/1), Munaazil (66/1), Oliver Hardy (66/1), Pretty Fantasy (100/1), Whatever Youlike (100/1)
The Jessica Harrington-trained INSTANT RETURN can get off the mark at the sixth time of asking for connections in the opener. The four-year-old has been far from disgraced in five career maiden hurdle appearances since October including a career best effort at Limerick on St Stephens day and can get the better of one of three Gordon Elliott runners, Oak Park. The Gavin Cromwell-trained Yafadadoe can get the better of the remaining Gordon Elliott runners Garrison Commander and Brawny.
- Instant Return
- Oak Park
- Yafordadoe
