Has achieved little thus far in his brief career. Makes his handicap debut in a poor race, but only a market move would make him more interesting.

Shaped better than the bare form suggests last time when enduring a wide trip. Has been found a weak race on his handicap debut so one to note in the market.

Pink Jazz31

Showed some improvement on AW debut last time and this looks less competitive. Jockey booking makes him one of the more interesting runners.

Has shown first signs of ability since switching to AW. Finished ahead of Pink Jazz last time and renews rivalry on better terms over a trip that should bring improvement. Stable had a couple of winners on Friday so one to consider.

Produced a career best here on penultimate start and had a rough passage last time. Remains vulnerable to one of the less exposed runners.

Has hinted at ability in better company than this and has acquired a modest opening handicap mark. In form rider (9-40 for the stable in 2019) takes over from a 7lb claimer. Definitely one to consider.

Showed improved form in a couple of 7f nurseries at Newcastle before finding 1m2f too far last time. Back from a break with yard going through a quiet spell.

Six-race maiden who has shown signs of progress lately. Trip would have been on sharp side last time and she is hard to rule out with a top rider booked by an Irish yard who do well here.

Age: 3|  Weight: 9-2| J: S W Kelly| T: R Hughes| OR:  50

Moderate sort who tends to run to form. Handicapper has given her a chance but she looks vulnerable to a less exposed type.

Ran her best race so far, albeit from a low base, when sixth (beaten 2L) at Lingfield (7f) two weeks ago after being denied a clear run. Well-beaten in a seller on Saturday and others have much stronger claims.

Cappella Fella34
Age: 3|  Weight: 8-12| J: David Probert| T: Sarah Hollinshead| OR:  46

Has not had the best of luck in running on either handicap start. Has shown enough to suggest he cannot be ruled out in a race as bad as this.

Forecasts

Pink Jazz (4/1), Dame Rapide (4/1), Eloquent Poet (5/1), Monsaraz (13/2), Where Next Jo (8/1), Looks Good (11/1), My Havana (12/1), Brown Eyes Blue (18/1), Cappella Fella (20/1), Various (20/1), Dream Isle (20/1), Evaporust (25/1), Birkie Queen (33/1)

Verdict

In a race as bad as this it would be unwise to rule anything out. Of the less exposed runners Capella Fella and Various are better than their form figures suggest whilst WHERE NEXT JO makes her handicap debut having been claimer ridden in two of her three outings. She has shown some ability and now makes plenty of appeal with Ben Curtis taking the reins. The Irish trio, Dame Rapide, Eloquent Poet and Pink Jazz all have claims which would be further enhanced if the market signals turn positive.
