Ran badly last time, but lost a shoe, and better judged on previous form, when making the frame in three chases at Cartmel (2m1½f/2m5f) earlier last year. Suspicion is that he wants better ground, though.
Kept on stoutly to win over hurdles at Carlisle in the spring, but hasn't yet reached that level over fences, looking short of pace, and rather let down by his jumping at Newcastle last time. Too early to write him off, however.
Runner-up on both bumper starts, and better effort over hurdles when fourth at Uttoxeter on debut. Makes a quick switch to fences now, and this point-to-point winner should settle better as a result. Claims if doing so.
Won at Carlisle over hurdles off 3lb lower in the spring, Failed to complete on first two starts over fences, and latest fifth of 7 to Almazhar Garde in a novice handicap at Catterick gives him plenty to find.
Thriving currently in this sphere, building on earlier promise when scoring over 2m3f here in October, and following up despite drop to 2m here last time. Up markedly in the weights, but this longer trip should see further progress.
