Landed a shock at the first meeting of the meeting of the year at this venue when landing the odds at 33/1 over C&D off a 13lb lower mark. Needs to back that effort up here off top weight.
Beat Pillar a head in November off a 6lb lower mark over 6f. Held in a couple of starts since including over C&D last month. Needs to step up on recent form to play a part.
All five appearances at this venue last season was over C&D with a second of nine his best effort in February. Approaching his last winning mark but has a negative draw to overcome.
Yet to hit the frame in four starts over C&D and the fact the Bahamian Bounty gelding is racing 15lb lower than last winning mark has to be a major concern.
Not getting the rub of the green in a number of efforts over C&D since November when running well in defeat. More likely than some to run his race from positive draw.
Veteran who is a six-time winner at the track including four wins over C&D from 19 starts over the combination. Could give a decent account dropping back in distance and now racing 9lb lower than last winning mark.
One from six over C&D and racing 6lb lower than last winning mark. Represents a yard with a 26% win and place strike rate in the last four years at this venue in the first couple of weeks of the new year.
One from 17 starts on the Flat including a heavy defeat over C&D in December 2017. Faces a tough task in this company.
Nothing of note in a number of starts for new connections. 10th of 14 beaten over 6L in November over C&D. Could be vulnerable once again.
Eight-race maiden. Last of 10 beaten 19L on latest start in a Hamilton 6f handicap in September. Unlikely to be making a significant impact on third start at this venue.
Eight-race maiden. Lightly raced over the course of the last 12 months. Nearer last than first in a Southwell 5f handicap on return to action last month. Looks opposable.
Ran well in defeat when the C&D winner finished third of 14 beaten 1L behind Pillar when last seen in November over the combination. Faces a tough test from negating draw.
Patience of connections paid off when the Arcano gelding landed the spoils over C7D in December on just the geldings second start in two years beating the luckless Lapilli a head off a 4lb lower mark.
Posted a career best effort over C&D on his sixth start at the track last month finishing third of 14 beaten ¾L behind Bambari at odds of 100/1. Has to back that effort up here.

The Damian English-trained LAPILLI can land the opener following a number of creditable runs over C&D since November. The seven-year-old has caught the eye on more than one occasion recently and can get the better of C&D winners Bambari for the Fozzy Stack yard and the top weight Red Cymbal. My Good Brother could go well at a price.
- Lapilli
- Bambari
- Red Cymbal
