Well beaten tenth over C&D here when last seen seven weeks ago, his first run for six months. Probably best watched off a mark 4lb higher than when winning over this C&D in April.
C&D winner off 5lb higher in 2017. Last won at Sandown (5f) in July but hasn't been in the same form since. Slipping down the weights (1lb below last win) and with cheekpieces added for the first time, is worthy of a second look.
Generally consistent sprinter who sat too far off the pace at Lingfield (6f, Polytrack) last time. Is versatile regarding trip so this return to 5f will pose no problems but needs everything to fall right in order to win.
Won over C&D in October off 1lb lower and has performed creditably in all four outings since, mostly recently when third at Wolverhampton (5f) three weeks ago. Likely to give his running again but will need to break on terms to maximise his chance.
Still a maiden after nine starts and has only ran twice since October 2018. Both of those starts were for this yard and neither contained a great deal of promise so is best watched returning from a 226-day break unless the market says otherwise.
5lb below his C&D win 11 months ago. Returned from a six-month break over C&D four weeks ago with a moderate performance, finishing seventh of 12. That should've blown away the cobwebs and he is handicapped to go well if on a going day.
Three-time 5f winner last year (Kempton/Southwell/Haydock) but off the boil since the last of those victories in July. Well down the field at Wolverhampton (tenth of 13) last month but is now 3lb below his winning mark at Southwell a year ago.
Running well in defeat over 5f/6f here and at Newcastle this winter, handicapper is slowly starting to relent and may figure a way to get his head in front before long. Each-way claims.
Won four races during the 2016/17 AW season, the most recent off a 20lb higher mark at Wolverhampton (5f). Been in the doldrums mostly since then and no signs of a revival in three runs for this yard. Off since July 2018 and hard to be enthusastic.
Doubled his tally when winning over 6f here three runs ago but has missed the break in both starts since which hasn't helped his chances. Ran well on his previous try at this trip but any sluggishness at the start will not help.
In form since returning from a break in October, winning twice over this trip at Southwell and, last time, at Chelmsford. Up 10lb overall and into a more competitive contest here so life will be more diffciult but not dismissed given recent form.
Forecasts
Tathmeen (5/1), Gowanbuster (5/1), Landing Night (6/1), Global Humor (6/1), Loulin (6/1), Indian Raj (7/1), Jan Van Hoof (10/1), Spirit Power (11/1), Big Lachie (12/1), Showu (50/1), Dazacam (200/1)
A tricky sprint handicap with no standout selection and so a tentative vote is given to TATHMEEN. He has held his form well since winning over C&D in October and conditions suit him perfectly. Indian Raj is capable off this mark and is well-handicapped on his best form if the cheekpieces can eke a little more whilst Loulin is in the best form of these coming into the race but this is more competitive than his recent races.
- Tathmeen
- Indian Raj
- Loulin
