Placed on both previous starts over hurdles including when beaten ½L in finishing third a 2m event at Wetherby (soft) last time out. Strong claims of registering a first hurdling success in this event.

Giga White6
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Adam Wedge| T: Evan Williams
14/1
Winner on the Flat in Ireland and ran a fair race when beaten 23L into third in a 2m maiden hurdle at Hereford (heavy) on hurdling and stable debut recently. Likely to have improved for that experience.

28/1
Soft ground handicap winner here in October and finished a good third on hurdling debut at Sedgefield (2m1f, soft) the following month. Plenty to find with Cawthorne Lad on their running at Wetherby (2m, soft) last month however.
Placed in a 1m4f handicap at Wolverhampton in November and finished 5L fifth in a claimer over an extended 1m1f in a first time visor (absent here) at the same venue a week later. Worth a check in the market on stable and hurdling debut.

Victorious in a maiden over an extended 1m4f for Aidan O'Brien in June an dplaced in a handicap subsequently. Decent 11L sixth on hurdles and stable debut at Warwick (2m, soft) last month and market support would be notable in this contest.

Pour Me A Drink93
Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: B S Hughes| T: K Dalgleish| BF
7/2
Successful on soft ground over 1m on the Flat and has run well at up to 1m4f in that sphere subsequently. Interesting to see how he fares with a top jockey booked to ride on debut over hurdles.

Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Danny Cook| T: J & S Quinn
16/1
Winner of a 1m5f handicap at Bath (good-to-soft) in September and has shown ability in two starts over hurdles for this yard. Cheekpieces tried having finished 20L fifth over an extended 1m7f at Musselburgh (good-to-soft) earlier this month.

Age: 4|  Weight: 10-12| J: Kielan Woods| T: Mrs P Sly
7/1
Promisign 3L second in a 2m event at Huntingdon (good) on hurdling debut in November. Below that form when 22L sixth over an extended 2m at Market Rasen (soft) subsequently and interesting to see how he fares in this event.

Forecasts

Kangaroo Valley (7/4), Cawthorne Lad (11/4), Pour Me A Drink (7/2), Silkstone (7/1), Giga White (14/1), Sea Art (16/1), Gordalan (28/1), Guandi (33/1)

Verdict

CAWTHORNE LAD can build on a couple of promising placed efforts over hurdles to take this opening juvenile hurdle. Pour Me A Drink showed decent form in handicap company on the Flat and he can claim second on hurdling debut ahead of Kangaroo Valley who can build record his first placed effort over obstacles by taking third.
  1. Cawthorne Lad
  2. Pour Me A Drink
  3. Kangaroo Valley
