Was in great form in 2019 as he has been successful on his last three starts. His latest victory came in a point-to-point at Alnwick (3m). Has something to find on his rivals here though at these weights.
Has been running well without success recently. He was second of seven two runs ago at Fontwell (3m3½f), while he finished third of seven in a class two contest at Chepstow (2m7½f) last time. Big player.
Has won the Topham (2m5f) twice over the Grand National fences at Aintree. Was seventh of 14 in the Becher Chase at Aintree (2m5f) last time out. Worth strong consideration at this level.
Scored in a hunters' chase at Cheltenham (2m4½f) back in May. Has been unable to follow that up in two point-to-point runs since, although he did finish second at Dunsmore (3m) last time. One to think about.
Was successful by 20L at Perth (3m) back in August. Has featured three times since then without success. He was fourth of 11 at Exeter (3m6½f) on his latest start. Stepping down in trip here. Others appeal more.
His sole success came over this C&D back in April. Has been well beaten in three attempts since then, including last time at Newton Abbot (3m2f) when he was third of five. Will need a career best to be in the mix here.
Has prevailed just once over fences and that was back in August 2017 in France. He was fancied to score last time at Fontwell (2m3½f) but he had to settle for second place of nine as the 2/1 favourite. Hard to fancy.
Was in great form in point-to-points in 2019 with three victories from his three starts. Has some solid form under Rules so he is very capable on his hunters' chase debut. One to consider.
Forecasts
Captain Cattistock (6/5), Wishing And Hoping (13/8), Bishops Road (5/1), Ultragold (12/1), Mustmeetalady (20/1), Buck Dancing (20/1), Diligent (80/1), Im All Set (100/1)
CAPTAIN CATTISOCK has done little wrong recently and he can can get back to winning ways on his drop down in class in this hunters' chase. Ultragold leads the opposition on his old form. The dual-Topham winner should have a strong say in this contest, especially after a solid run in the Becher, while Wishing And Hoping comes into this race on the back of three point-to-point wins and is good enough to hit the frame on his hunters' chase debut.
- Captain Cattistock
